Leo entered the Marco's mansion sighing in his heart. This is the place he grew up, his home until everything changed. He doesn't have much memory of his father because his father died when he was just three years old but he remembers his mother, how can he even forget her?
She used to read him bedtime stories every night before his sleep. He remembered how he planted vegetables with her in her garden. He still misses her he thought to himself.
Old Mr Marco was in his study when he heard a knock on his door.
"Sir, both your grandsons has arrived" Calvert said.
Old Mr Marco sighed in his heart. He has only two grandsons and his greatest wish is to see both his grandsons living well together.
Olsen his son had a first love named Elena. He loved her and wanted to get married to her but at a time the family business was collapsing and he was forced to form a marriage alliance with the Don's family, a very powerful family, to stabilize the Marco family.
He got married to Amelia, the daughter of the Don family abandoning Elena who then was already pregnant.
Elena father kicked her out of the family, she suffered pain and humiliation and died from heart failure when her son, Mafioso was five years old.
Olsen later died in a car accident the day he heard of Elena's death leaving both his sons. Leo who was three years old and Mafioso. This was a huge blow to Old Mr Marco.
Mafioso was then taken to the orphanage and lived there until he was 19 when Grandpa Marco brought him to the Marco family.
Mafioso had always held a grudge against Leo blaming him and his mother for separating his parents and hated him.
Grandpa Marco walked down the stairs in high spirit. Although he was old, he was still very strong physically.
He called out to both his grandsons, his voice was loud and his complexion was good.
Leo and Mafioso stood up to welcome their grandfather.
"Please sit" Old Mr Marco said "I called you here today to..."
Ian resumed work in the company at the marketing department. Ellie had planned to make him miserable in the job.
The department manager had arranged a pile of work for him even before he started working. Ian has always been so lazy and spoiled hence started complaining. The department manager said if he is not ready to work he is free to resign so Ian was forced to swallow his discontentment.
Ellie saw Ian at the close of work looking tired and frustrated.
"Ian are you okay?" she asked feigning concern
"I'm fine...I'm just stressed...the job ain't easy."
"Ooo...I see...then when you get home, be sure to take a good rest."
"Yes I will" Ian said and left. Immediately, Ellie sneered coldly "we are just getting started Ian, you don't expect to have an easy life when my mum's kidney is still inside of you"
Ian got home complaining to his mum how difficult the job is and that he is not sure he can continue working. His mum told him not to even think about it and that this is their key to greater heights.
