Leo got up the next morning, had his breakfast and headed to the company. He got into his car and his chauffeur drove him. All through the way, the driver kept glancing at his boss from his rear view mirror and saw him looking depressed. He has gone back to being cold.
That day, he looked arrogant and icy towards everyone that saw him when he arrived at the company. He was in a completely bad state and even the slightest mistake by any of his employees resulted in a dismissal letter.
His employees saw this and were scared. They could only approach Harry who tried talking to Leo but ended up being ignored too.
His mood swings lasted for about a week, and during that time, ten secretaries were relieved of their duties.
At one point, he fired one of his secretaries, saying the coffee she made was too hot, and another because she didn't remind him about his lunch break.
No query or correction was issued-only outright dismissal from the company
Rumours had been spreading that the president was taking out his anger on everyone because his girlfriend had left him.
Ian heard about this and thought it would be the best time to show some care toward Leo and get him to notice him..."who knows maybe he'll give me a better position at the company," he thought.
He decided to go meet him at his office.
"Sir, Ian from the marketing department wants to see you" Leo's secretary informed him.
"Ian, Ellie's brother," Leo thought. "What does he want?" he asked his secretary
"He said he has something to discuss with you" the secretary responded.
Leo wondered if he knew anything about Ellie's sudden change of attitude. At that thought, he decided to talk to him.
"Let him in" he said
"The president said you can go in" the secretary informed Ian.
"Good day, sir" Ian greeted. Leo didn't even raise his head to look at him
"Yes" he said, his eyes still on the documents in his hand
"Sir I'm here to talk to you about my sister Ellie". Hearing Ellie's name, Leo became interested and suddenly raised his head.
"What about Ellie?" he said.
" Sir I heard about what happened between you and my sister and I'm so sorry about that..." Ian said, concern in his voice. "Ellie has always been so selfish, not caring about anyone else but herself. She doesn't deserve you."
Ian was acting as the good guy, trying to show concern for Leo and, at the same time, splash dirty water on Ellie. He thought it best that Ellie lose Leo's favor so she would have no one protecting her.
"I thought she was your sister?" Leo asked, surprised. Ellie had told him that both her parents had died, and that her stepmother and stepbrother had caused her mother's death. Now, thinking about it, she must have had a hard life if this is the kind of family she has-a brother who is ready to tarnish her image to make himself look good.
"Yes...but I don't want you getting hurt. You are my boss, and I care about you. I want you to be happy."
"Well, I've heard you. You can get out of my office." Leo was not in the mood to make things difficult for him because he was Ellie's brother.
