Although the other awakened couldn't see the monster's stats like Lucas, they could sense their overwhelming presence and superior power.
Only Lucas had barely the superior stats, thanks to his intelligence.
All the others could do was attack with their superior numbers.
Captain Bacher along with 4 others attacked the wolf kobold in front of them at the same time.
The D-rank, 6'5 tall wolf kobold targeted the weakest looking one, tearing his head off in one smooth motion.
He did the same to another one and before he could hit the third, one spear and one sword pierced him.
The third guy also stabbed him after dodging the slowed claws of the kobold.
With one last swing from Captain Bacher, the wolf kobold was decapitated.
"Shit! To think we would encounter such a powerful monster."
"We lost two guys just like that."
The 20 other awakend that ambushed the rest of the kobolds, who were E-rank hyena kobolds, were still fighting them.
At first they were doing well because it was an ambush, but because of the kobold's superior strength, they were gaining the advantage.
Right now there were 15 awakend left and 14 kobolds, but the awakend didn't stand a chance anymore.
Just when things started to look hopeless, Captain Bacher and the other two awakend that were fighting their leader appeared.
They each stabbed one kobold in the back and thanks to that, the rest of the awakend gained some momentum.
Everyone fighted desperately with their lives on the line.
After an intense battle of another 15 minutes, they finally killed the last kobold.
Everyone was panting hard, including Captain Bacher and Ruben Tavher who was in his team this time again.
"Huff.. huff.. huff.."
"Captain, we lost 12 out of our total 25 men. What should we do?"
"We need to head back immediately and report to the Commander."
"Yes sir!"
In the other 3 paths, similar results happened.
The group with Gürt and Volkov suffered 9 casualties.
The group with Rafael, Sarah and Chima suffered 11 casualties.
And Michael Kahl's group was nearly annihilated with only 5 survivors, meaning they had 20 casualties.
Even though they all succeeded in killing their foes, they all retreated in defeat.
Lucas was already with Commander Schmid, discussing what he encountered. He left Ghost back there to watch out for more enemies.
"I see, that's really bad news. If the others faced the same monsters, it could end in a very terrible way."
Just when he was about to order for Lucas and the 20 awakend reserves with him to go rescue the others, people appeared from the tunnels.
Everyone except for Lucas looked with complete disbelief when they saw their comrades return in such low numbers and countless wounds.
They all started whispering to eachother.
"What the hell happened in there?"
"To think they suffered such casualties."
"Thank god I didn't enter."
"Hey! Watch what you say."
"Sorry."
Commander Schmid approached the group leaders, including Captain Bacher.
"Did you also face a D-rank wolf kobold?"
"Yes sir…"
"Everyone report the number of casualties."
When he heard the numbers, he was utterly shocked.
"To think we lost so many good men…"
The survivors stared at Lucas and started wondering.
'How did he survive without a scratch?'
Captain Bacher was the first to ask.
"Lucas, did you face the same as us?"
"Yes sir. My summons killed them all. We immediately came back to report after that."
Everyone near him was extremely shocked.
"I see. Well I'm glad you survived Lucas."
Even with the major wounds on his body, Captain Bacher smiled at Lucas.
"Thank you sir, I feel the same."
Commander Schmid then spoke up.
"We have suffered too many losses. Everyone fall back! We are leaving this place."
"Sir. Can I stay to scout further inside? I think it's important to find out more about our enemies."
Commander Schmid thought for a while.
"Do you think that you can make it out alive?"
"I am confident that my summons can keep me alive."
"Alright, but try to come out of the gate within 2 hours."
"Understood sir."
"Good luck to you. Stay safe and see you soon."
"Thank you sir. See you soon."

Lucas was currently at the entrance to the large cavern where the hyena kobolds resided.
'Truthfully, Ghost already scouted the whole gate. But I wanted to keep hunting to earn more experience.'
Lucas stared at the hyena kobolds that were left.
'Only 25 are still alive, but there are a few D-rank wolf kobolds that came out before.'
There were 5 D-rank wolf kobolds and they ranged from level 10-14.
"What do you think guys? Can you handle 25 E-ranks plus 5 D-ranks?"
Grishna responded first.
"Of course master. I will kill the stronger ones first with Ghost, wich will take under a minute and Krasbert will distract the weaker ones."
Ghost replied.
"I agree with her, master."
Krasbert talked last.
"Tsk fine. But I will kill as many as possible before you guys join me."
Lucas was satisfied. His avatars proved to be useful in many different ways and they grew on him. Especially Grishna of course.
"Very good guys. Get moving then."
"Yes!"
The kobolds were talking to eachother in their own incomprehensible language when an arrow struck one D-rank kobold's head.
Another arrow followed and killed a second one.
The third was dodged, but another kobold felt a dagger in his back.
He quickly had his throat slit and when another kobold was charging at Ghost, he was struck with another arrow from Grishna.
The last one was then decapitated by Ghost.
At the same time Krasbert had already killed 6 of the 25 hyena kobolds.
Right when his steel claws pierced threw the 7th one's chest, an arrow flew towards another kobold.
2 minutes later, every kobold was dead.
'Very impressive, it looked so easy for them. And Ghost reached level 10.'
'It might take a while for him to evolve though.'
"Very well done guys!"
They simultaneously responded.
"Thank you master!"
After taking a short break, they decided to go further in.
They chose to take the right entrance, as suggested by Ghost.
