Inside the building it was really busy with people in suits.
'Why does everyone look so stressed?'
"Lucas!"
Captain Bacher approached Lucas.
"Hey Captain Bacher."
"It's actually team leader Bacher now. I'm the leader of team 1 of awakened members of the association."
"Oh alright."
"You can just call me Bacher though."
"Okay then Bacher."
"Good. Let me take you to the front desk."
They walked to the front desk on the left side of the building.
Lucas approached a young woman sitting behind one of the desks.
Bacher introduced him.
"Hey Natalie. This is Lucas Strom. He will be the first awakend to register in our branch."
"Oh hello sir Strom. I wasn't expecting anyone yet."
"Hello."
"Lucas here is special. He is without a doubt the strongest awakend in our city and has amazing abilities!"
"Ah is that so? May I see your status screen please?"
"Okay, but how much do I need to reveal?"
Natalie was surprised while Bacher smiled, expecting this.
"Haha you really don't trust anyone do you?"
"Sorry I just prefer my privacy."
Natalie responded.
"That's alright sir. Although we prefer seeing everything, we just require your name, level and attributes/stats."
"Okay."

Natalie and Bacher both looked in shock.
'How did his stats increase so much?'
"Wow. Team leader Bacher wasn't kidding. Your stats are incredible."
"Yeah thanks."
"So what now?"
"I just put this information into our system and register you sir."
"That's all?"
"What about entering gates?"
"You need to put a request in for the gate you wish to enter and after checking your and the gate's information we decide if you are eligible to enter."
"You aren't allowed to destroy the gate core and of course you aren't allowed to harm other people."
"You aren't allowed to enter when someone else is already inside unless you enter together as a team."
"You can also sell anything you find inside the gate to the association, including monster corpses. But it is illegal to sell anywhere else."
"There are other rules depending on the gate, awakend and situation, but those are the main points."
Natalie was done talking and Lucas answered.
"I see okay."
"Can I sell corpses right now?"
"Yes of course. Let me show you the way to where we deal with such transactions."
"Alright."
They all walked towards the elevator and moved to the second basement floor.
They then entered a large room with a few people there sitting behind large flat metal tables.
"Oh hey Natalie. What are you doing here so early?"
"Hello sir. This gentleman here wishes to sell monster corpses. He is an important awakend to our branch."
"Understood. Please put the corpses down here sir."
Lucas answered.
"Alright, but most won't fit here."
"Okay, can you tell me how many and what kind of monster corpses you have?"
"Yes. I have 1 C-rank red alpha wolf kobold, 35 D-rank wolf kobolds, 50 E-rank hyena kobolds, 2 F-rank frenzy foxes, 2 F-rank blood rabbits, 10 E-rank metal plate boars, 10 E-rank black frenzy apes, 10 E-rank blue forest wolves and 10 E-rank hobgoblins."
Everyone in the room had their mouths wide open.
"Incredible sir! How did you get so many of them and most are above F-rank?"
"I killed them with my summons."
"I would've had more but I didn't have more space in my inventory."
Lucas started summoning the corpses.
The association's personnel started inspecting them all.
After 30 minutes of inspection they finally finished.
"Alright we have calculated the total sum we can offer you sir Strom."
"Okay how much?"
"For the frenzy foxes we offer 1000.-"
"For the blood rabbits 600.-"
"For the hobgoblins 20'000.-"
"For the blue forest wolves 22'000.-"
"For the black frenzy apes 25'000.-"
"For the metal plate boars 70'000.-"
"For the hyena kobolds 250'000.-"
"For the wolf kobolds 700'000.-"
"And lastly for the C-rank red alpha wolf kobold we offer 200'000.-"
"The total amount is 1'288'600.-"
"Do you accept this offer sir Strom?"
'How can anyone turn that offer down?'
Lucas thought.
"Yes I accept."
"Great! The money will arrive in your bank account shortly sir."
"Thank you."
Bacher then approached Lucas.
"Wow Lucas you are a millionaire now. And you definitely deserve it more than anyone!"
"Thanks Bacher."
"Sure thing. By the way, Schmid wants to see you. Do you have time?"
"Yeah sure."
"Great! Follow me."
They took the elevator to the 8th floor, wich was the highest.
Lucas followed Bacher to a door at the end of the hall.
Knock knock knock
"Come in."
They entered a large office with a glass wall at the back.
The former military commander Schmid was sitting there behind his desk.
"Lucas! I'm glad you could make it."
"Yes, hello sir."
"I heard you sold a lot of stuff downstairs."
"Yes I did."
"Why am I here?"
"Right. As you may know, we severely lack awakened people in our branch. We have a few hundred employees, but we have only three teams with awakened members."
"Yeah I guessed as much."
"If you are looking to recruit me, I will have to decline. I don't like working for someone else."
"Haha I know kid don't worry."
"We would just like to invest in you."
"What do you mean?"
"As you may have heard, powerful awakend around the world are creating guilds."
"Yes I know."
"We would like to help you create a guild and be it's leader."
"Why?"
"Well, recruiting people into the association is extremely complicated and a lot of people don't have what we need in members."
"But a guild is different. Sooner or later guilds will appear wether we want to or not. We just want them to be trustworthy."
"I think you would be an excellent choice as a leader. You are strong, smart and I also believe that you are a good person even with that cold exterior."
"Thanks but wouldn't I still be under your control if you help me create the guild? And even if I accept, will people want to follow me? And even if they do, how do I know who is trustworthy."
"Haha this is what I like about you. You question everything. Although it wouldn't be a good thing in the government."
"To answer your questions. We would just give you enough money to help you create a guild and we would also recommend some people who can help you with that process."
"We don't ask much in return. Just that you don't make drastic decisions without our knowing. Of course that you don't abuse your power. And lastly, that you share any information you have on gates and monsters with us."
