Chapter 36 - Episode 36: Another Sinner Appears

INT. C.H.R.U.C.H BUILDING(THEA'S OFFICE) - AFTERNOON. NOVEMBER 1ST, 2025, 5:15 P.M

A gust of wind flew past Gabriel as he heard heavy footsteps. Thea's towering frame appeared in front of him, the feeling of extreme hate radiated from her. Thea had a reddish aura covering her body as she rushed the feminine figure. "YOU BASTARD!Thea screamed. "GIVE ME MY SISTER BACK!

The figure let out a cruel laugh, not even flinching when Thea landed a heavy blow to her face, her head not moving an inch. "Is this all the power the famed Amazonians have? Pathetic?" The figure spat, face unmoving as Thea jumped back, a quizzical look on her face. "Let me guess, are you this body's sister? I guess I chose the right sister's body to steal."

Gabriel's expression turned to shock at that revolution. "So, Thea, are… are we fighting your sister right now?

"No, I mean we are fighting her body, but I would assume a demon overtook her mind ‌", Thea growled in response.

The figure stood up straight, clapping her hands. "Good joy, aren't you quite the clever one, ain't you?" the figure stated, a smirk on her face as she gazed around the room. "Oh, come on, guys, lighten up. I promise I took this body under rightful terms, no tricks, scout's honor." She finished holding up her right hand solemnly.

Thea let out a mighty roar before charging right at The figure, all hints of tactics going out the window as she recklessly attacked the person. Switching between punches and kicks, Thea tried her best to hit the person wearing her sister's face. The figure weaved out the way of the onslaught, dancing through the attacks as if they were slow. When the figure stepped backwards to dodge an attack, Gabriel coated his hands with energy before throwing his fist forwards. A bolt of light moving fast through the air.

The figure looked at the bolt, and letting it go through her head, the bolt continued before hitting the glass window. "Interesting, your abilities are so unusual", the figure chirped, ignoring Thea, who had been trying to hit her, but each attack went through the figure's body. As if the figure were a phantom. The figure disappeared before appearing in front of Gabriel, standing slightly taller. The figure grabbed Gabriel by his neck, faster than Gabriel could react.

"ROOK!". Blake shouted, trying to throw a punch, but the figure slapped him with the back of his hand, sending Blake's body flying through the air.

The figure snapped the fingers on her left hand, a black tentacle popping up out of the ground, redirecting the fireball towards the ceiling. A minor explosion blowing whole allowing small rays of sunlight to come through. "So many pests, like cockroaches, if you‌ squash them so they'll stop coming back!". The figure snapped, waved her left hand and tentacles wrapped around Gibby, holding him a few feet off the ground, unable to move. "Now where was I, right I remember now. Who are you!?"

Gabriel tried to talk, but no words came out of his mouth as he struggled to breathe. "Right", The figure said sheepishly as she loosened the grip on his throat enough for Gabriel to breathe.

"Fuck...y....ou", Gabriel gasped out as he tried to take in as much air as he could.

The figure let out a tremendous sigh. "Why are you people so difficult? I wonder if I started breaking limbs, would you be willing to have a conversation then?"

"GET OUT OF MY SISTERS BODY", Thea roared. The figure turned quickly and threw Gabriel's body at Thea, who was in the air. "Ahh!"Thea screamed as Gabriel collided in the air. Both landed on the ground in a tumble of limbs.

Blake came charging back at the figure, throwing the shield when he was three feet within range of the figure's face, hoping that she couldn't dodge. Even if she did dodge, it would leave her open to a follow up attack from him. To his dismay, the figure caught the shield, shattering it in her grip. The small pieces of holy light falling to the ground.

The figure glanced at her hand as the skin quickly healed, having a small burn from touching something with holy energy. "I forgot you were the Holy Shield user. Lots of luck that'll do for you.", The figure observed.

Since she was distracted, Blake threw a wild haymaker, hoping to hit her. The figure ducked under the punch before countering with the jab to his ribs. Blake felt the hit but did his best to ignore the pain as tried for an uppercut. The figure leaned back before countering with a jab to his face. Blood squirted out of his nose, the punch breaking it as soon the hit landed on his face.

Gabriel groggily got to his feet, feeling a slight pain in his back but overall was okay. He noticed Blake stumbling backwards and quickly joined back into the fight, not stopping to check on Thea, who was still on the ground. Gabriel formed a gun and started shooting at the figure right before she could land another punch on Blake. The figure had to dodge the attacks. Blake, catching his footing, followed the figure, turning the shield into his gauntlets for his hands.

Blake started throwing wild punches as the figure danced out of the way. Thinking it was too much of a risk to accidentally shoot Blake, Gabriel let the gun disappear. Gabriel rushed on, "After today I will study more anime, and fighting styles," he thought to himself. Knowing that in the future he needs to be more creative in how he fights battles. Shaking the thoughts out of his mind, he summoned a giant fist to try to hit the figure. The figure, as if sensing the attack, quickly dodged out of the way of the punch.

After the figure moved out of the way of the giant fist, Blake's punches hit her, causing the skin on her face to smoke as she stumbled back. Gabriel, capitalizing, threw another giant fist, hitting her in the back. Stumbling forward into the path of Blake's uppercut, her head snapped back. Blood soared through the air as the figure's head was lifted up towards the ceiling. Gabriel, close to the figure's body, went in for a jab to the chest. The figure raised her knee to block it, while simultaneously blocking Blake's punch aimed at her head with her left hand.

Blake and Gabriel both took a step back, side by side as they looked at the figure. The figure slowly lowered her head, now looking directly at both of them. Blood dripped down her mouth as she grinned at the two of them. "Such teamwork, I'm actually impressed. I see how you could take down Evan and Lucious now," approved the figure, cocking her head to the side as she studied them.

Blake and Gabriel shared a look, Blake nodded and spoke up first. "So are you part of the sins group? I think that's what that guy Evan said you all were called."

The figure narrowed her eyes, pausing for a moment as she just stared at the duo. "Interesting, so you don't even know who your enemies are. It's intriguing that you defeated two of us‌", she finally replied. A smidge of respect in her tone.

"Why are you trying to kill us?" Gabriel inquired, wanting to know the reason for being targeted.

The figure shook her head no. "You aren't the one we are after. You just happened to be‌ at the wrong place at the right time."‌ She paused for a second before turning her gaze towards Blake. Her eyes flashing yellow, she looked towards him. "You're the one we are after, though I'm sure Evan told you before you killed him, though knowing him he probably didn't. Evan lived for fighting. Anyway we need Blake for a ritual, in particular, we need the holy item he's connected to."

Blake looked down at his wrist before raising his eyebrow at the figure. "Seriously, you want this thing? It can barely harm demons half the time. The best thing it's good for is blocking attacks."

"How foolish, one with such great power not knowing how to use it.," the figure sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. "You only touched the pinnacle of what that shield can do, truthfully calling it a shield is wrong. It can transform into multiple different objects. You're not the true owner of the watch, so you can't make use of its full capabilities"

"What do you mean that I'm not the true owner of the watch?"

The figure rubbed her temples as if she were frustrated, glaring fiercely at Blake. "So many questions from you annoying humans. Fine, I'll answer this last one to show my goodwill, Mr. Murphy." She spat, her voice venomous, the room beginning to feel oppressive as her aura glowed a bright yellow. "Our leader hunted down the last owner, using hellhounds to kill him and his wife. We also wiped out the rest of his family, or at least we thought we did.", She paused once again, taking a glance at Gabriel.

"What's the point of killing off the kids too then?"Gabriel spoke up.

The figure turned her head to look at Gabriel, lips pursed together as she mulled over the question. "The watch, unless granted permission, will automatically go to the next inline. It was easier for us to kill the child while young so we wouldn't have to hunt the children down later, though it didn't go the way we wanted."

"Then what's the point of the watch?

"It's a key," the figure responded, licking her lips as the yellow aura began to grow larger. "Enough talk, Mr.Murphy you have two options. Either come with me willingly, or I kill everyone here and drag you with me. Your choice!"

"Yeah, I choose to kick your ass!" Thea screamed, coming down out of the air with a heavy heel kick. Her form was red as the heel quickly came down on the spot the figure was standing. "Holy foot of Flames!" Fire formed around her foot as it hit the ground hard. BOOM.

An immense cloud of dust kicked up, the blast forcing Gabriel to use his Echo(the humanoid bird creation he made. Nadia gave it the nickname Echo since it echoes Gabriel's movements) to defend him from the shockwave that happened. Blake was able to get his shield up in time, the blast being so heavy it caused them to move back a few inches. A minute passed before the heat died down and Echo lowered its shield protecting Gabriel. The dust was too clear as Thea was seen kneeling on the ground.

The figure who was nowhere to be seen. Gabriel hesitantly made his way towards Thea, the ground unstable from the damage Thea did. A minute later, Gabriel made his way to Thea, peering into the little‌ circle, he saw Thea sitting on the ground. Her leg was in an awkward position, looking broken from the angle he's looking like. Summoning a ball of light, Gabriel willed it to circle Thea, to heal the injury she just took.

Thea gasped at the small ball of light before looking around noticing Gabriel a few feet away. "I didn't realize you could heal injuries with your abilities."

Gabriel shrugged in response. "It's a byproduct of my abilities that I'm still learning about."

"I see, very useful compared to mine. To heal things like my injuries takes a lot of energy out of me."

"How do your powers work?", Gabriel asked, cocking his head to the side. He wanted to know if his theory about how her powers work is correct.

Thea went to answer when the figure, now missing half of her cloak, appeared out of the ground, kneeing Thea in the face. The figure then disappeared, before reappearing in front of Gabriel, a kick poised by his head, the kick blocked by Echo's shield. The recoil of the wind blowing his hair. Gabriel was shocked at how much faster she was moving compared to before.
