INT. GABRIEL'S HOUSE - AFTERNOON, NOVEMBER 2ND, 2025, 4 P.M.
Gabriel put his head on the kitchen table once again, the complaints of Nadia going over his head as he let out a huge groan. "Seriously, did you and the old man get any information on the case that we needed?", Nadia asked, hands going over the keyboard.
Gabriel lifted his head and glared at her in annoyance. "We've been over this for two hours now!"He whined, doing his best not to hit his head on the table out of frustration. "The only information we got is the letter you hold in your hand. Which came from the group we've been hunting."
Nadia threw her hands up in the air, "Have we been hunting a group? Because at this point I don't know what the hell is going on in this case."
"That makes the two of us", Gabriel sighed, sitting up straight in the chair., looking at Nadia's hair that looked all wild letting out a chuckle.
Nadia narrowed her eyes at him. "What's so funny, Gabs?"
Gabriel brought his hands up, waving them in front of himself in defense. "Nothing, I swear"
Nadia let out a snort, "I'm sure"
"So did you break the code to the letter by chance?"Gabriel inquired.
"No, truthfully I've been racking my brains trying to figure out what the numbers mean."
Gabriel nodded his head in agreement. "Could it be like a list of dates?"
"No, it wouldn't make sense, seeing how many numbers there are in the letter.", Nadia refuted her hands going across the keyboard once again. "I also did confirm that the kid we were looking for um cain died around nine years ago."
"So roughly around the time he got out of the military?"
"Exactly!"
"Ugh, so even that lead is dead.", Gabriel growled, rubbing his temples in frustration.
"It seems like it," Nadia agreed. Doing a small stretch while looking around the room. "By the way, where's the old man?"
Gabriel leaned back in the chair, his eyes looking at the ceiling as he contemplated the question. "I think he went back to Church, before going to spend time with his daughter this Sunday.", He replied, though his tone was unsure.
"I bet he went to go see that big-breasted woman you were talking about!", Nadia accused
"Ugh, no, they hate each other, or at least he hated her.", Gabriel told her, though his aura took on a small pink hue. "Also, I want to add her name is Thea"
"Whatever", Naida growled before looking back at her laptop.
Gabriel could feel a small twinge of jealousy coming from her, but Gabirel didn't know how to deal with the situation. "Hey Nadia", he spoke, hoping to change the topic.
Nadia looked up with a frown on her face. Her eyes narrowed at Gabriel. "Yes, Gabs, anything else would you like to tell me about Thea?", she inquired, her tone dripping with sarcasm.
"No, NO!"Gabriel started quickly, waving his hands in defense in front of him. "I was just going to ask what you did yesterday while Blake and I were at church."
"At church, fighting for your lives, I might add."
"Yes, fighting for our lives.", He nodded in agreement.
Nadia raised her eyebrow as she stopped typing on her keyboard. "If you would like to know, I was busy visiting my friend Alex in the hospital."
"Hmm, Alex, Alex.", Gabriel muttered out loud as he tapped his index finger on the table. "Is she one of the officers that was helping us portal on Friday?"
"Yep!"Nadia said, emphasizing the P with a loud pop. "Out of the officers she brought, thankfully she is the only survivor."
"Hmm, thankfully indeed.", Gabriel said in agreement..
"Yeah the only downside is she also knows we all have abilities and wants to know more about us overall.", Nadia whispered, though Gabriel was able to hear.
Gabriel looked at her in shock, his mouth flapping like a fish at hearing the words. "I thought people couldn't see supernatural stuff why they attribute it to other stuff."
Nadia shrugged in response. "I mean you have no knowledge of the supernatural and were able to see stuff as well if you remember."
"That is fair actually, so I guess certain people can actually see things while some can't."
"Prety much, thankfully she just wanted to know if she gained powers, and if there was anything she could do to help us.", Nadia added, turning her attention back to the words on the screen. "Though that is something we won't have to worry about at least until she heals."
"You know, all of this feels very overwhelming.", Gabriel admitted, holding his head in his hands. "I mean, it's good that she's okay, but man, this shit doesn't make sense."
"I mean, we can run down the list of what we do have.", Nadia offered.
Gabriel leaned back and thought over that info. "I truthfully think everything ties back to Blake, and something about his past that he refuses to talk about.
"That I can agree with!", Acknowledged Nadia
"Hmm, I remember when we were at Thea's office.", Gabriel started with Nadia letting out a small growl. Gabriel let out a sweat drop at that sound, though he continued through the interruption. "Well, Blake said the name Chole, and that he hates Thea for blaming her for something."
"Hmm, wait a second.", Nadia told him as her fingers flew over the keyboard. After about a minute, Nadia continued typing as she pulled up the document she was looking for. "I can confirm now that Chole Corson died in 2002 from the suspected demon attack."
"Then her maiden name must've been Thomas, making her related to Ava", Gabriel stated.
"Yes, but get this I was digging into Blake's background because he mentioned his daughter. Working back from children with cancer, I found one named Ava Murphy."
Gabriel raised his eyebrow in confusion, "I don't remember you being around for that conversation."
Nadia waved her hand in front of her face. "Meh, meh, I was listening from the stairs, but that's not the point. I wondered how Chloe and Ava were connected to Blake, and get this, Ava is Blake's wife."
Gabriel's face went through a bunch of emotions, his aura matching quickly changing colors before staying on blue. A feeling of shock growing through his entire body. "Wait, then Blake is more connected to this case than he let on."
Nadia nodded in agreement. "Exactly he left so much information out that could've been useful, like the Church being a secret place to fight supernatural monsters."
"Nadia, I need you to look up any pictures you can find of Chloe and her husband. Based on the conversation I overheard in the office, something was wrong with the kid. So maybe if we can track the husband's roots, we might work back why Thea wanted that kid dead." Gabriel said, his tone serious.
Nadia looked back at Gabriel and nodded, her face also serious as she started going over the keyboard quickly. "Hey this is strange.", Nadia said outloud.
"What's strange, were you able to find a picture of her?"Gabriel asked.
"Chole's was married to a man named Benjamin Corson. Corson was also a police officer at the same precinct we work for now.", Naida explained.
"That is a strange confidence."
"No, the really strange part is the fact the man was also Blake's partner!"Nadia confirmed.
Gabriel rubbed his head, completely exhausted by all the information. "So let me get this straight, you're telling me that Blake married his partner's sister-in-law. Put his nephew into foster care, and worked for an organization that wanted him dead."
"Don't forget to add that kept all of this away from us too, which would've been helpful for the case earlier.", Nadia added.
Gabriel's head began to pound badly, his thoughts racing as he tried to keep everything straight. "So I'm starting to think this case is more about revenge than anything else.", he muttered to himself before looking back up at Nadia. "Do you know anything about the name Stolas, or something called the Ritual of Abaddon?"
Nadia's fingers froze, her face beginning to pale as she registered the words of Gabriel. "Where did you hear that ?"
"Hear what, Abaddon?"
"Yes, where did you hear it from?"Nadia asked once again.
"Hmm, I think Blake mentioned it yesterday, though I can't recall the context though.", Gabriel admitted. Nadia stood up, small beads of sweat showing on her face as started pacing back and forth on her side of the table. Gabriel went to open his mouth to say something when the doorbell went off.
Gabriel tried to ignore it, but when it went off once again, he took one last look at Nadia, worried about her, before standing up from the kitchen table. Quickly going towards the front door. The bell went off one more time before he opened. "Sorry, I was in the middle of something," Gabriel trailed off when he was shocked to see his parents in the doorway.
