INT. HOSPITAL - AFTERNOON. NOVEMBER 1ST, 2025, 3:15 P.M
Nadia stepped out of her car, an old junk of a car better not talked about. Could she have gotten a new one, probably, but she really doesn't care since this one runs perfectly fine. Letting out a small sigh, Nadia tucked her keys into her open pouch of her small satchel.
Turning towards the hospital door she started her small walk. She felt a little self conscious, as she pulled on the long sleeves of her sweater she was wearing. Today she was wearing an oversized sweater, with black leggings and small boots. Something really basic, and comfortable for the day. Heck she even left her hair on unlike the bun she usually has it up in.
Finally, making it to the hospital, she gave a friendly wave to the person at the front desk as she walked past. Nadia pressed the button for up on the panel, standing there patiently waiting for the elevator. She checked her phone to make sure she knew which room to go to, Alex having texted her the room number earlier.
Alex was glad Nadia would visit. In her defense, Nadia hasn't been really talking to her much as usual. The ding of the elevator knocked her out of the thoughts she had going through her head. Stepping in she quickly pressed the button for the fourth floor, watching the doors close.
Nadia tapped her feet impatiently as the elevator slowly came to the second floor. "Come on", she muttered to herself as the door opened. Stepping in was a man slightly taller than her, with a bald head. The strangest part was how the man's skin looked slightly grey, though he had on brand new black suit with a white dress shirt and a red tie. The man looked over Nadia slowly, stepping into the elevator.
Nadia stepped into the back of the elevator, wanting space between the man and her. An odd feeling came off the man as he turned towards the elevator panel, pressing one button as the door slowly closed. Nadia took a deep breath, doing her best to keep calm. "Where have you been?", the man said in a deep voice. His back to her as the elevator started slowly moving up.
Nadia's hands started to feel clammy, her body heating up as the stranger spoke. "Sorry, sir, I think you got the wrong person.", She replied, doing his back to keep her tone even.
"No, I don't think so.", The man growled. Stepping forward pushing the emergency stop button on the elevator. "Let's try this again where the fuck hav...ack" The man turning around to a punch to the throat, grabbing his throat in pain with both of his hands.
Nadia didn't hesitate to kick the man in the chest into the door of the elevator. Nadia went for a jab, but the man swayed to the left, countering with a left hook to the face. The hit lightly touched her nose as Nadia leaned back. Nadia lashed out with a sidekick that the man blocked.
As soon as she lowered her leg the man tried to do a front kick to her chest. Ducked under the kick, trying for a lower leg sweep, the man stepped over. Nadia got back to her feet but was forced to dodge a punch to the face. The man threw fast punches that made Nadia back up until her back was against the wall of the elevator.
The man went to a strong overhead punch that Nadia swayed to the right before punching the man multiple times in the stomach. The man staggered back with Nadia following up with a kick to his face, small beads of blood flowing down as his nose fell backwards into the elevator door. "I see even with this body you're not as weak as you usually let on", the man muttered to himself. Getting to his feet, he stared.
Nadia backed up a little, taking a deep breath as she got back in her usual fighting stance. "So want to explain to me, who you're actually looking for, or you just here for my good looks?"Nadia asked, muscles relaxed but waiting to attack at any little moment.
The man stood up straight, fixing his tie as he glared at her. "We both know you're pretending to be that girl, taking over her body.", he spat at her. "If you want to continue to play dumb fine, let the consequences fall on your shoulders, not mine."
Nadia wiped small beads of spit off her face, a scowl forming on her lips. "First off, say it with words, dude, fucking spit.", She growled, leg shaking, but she was restraining from wanting to attack. "Second, you can get lost, I didn't take over anyone's body fucking weirdo. So if you want to continue fighting, I'm game, you crazy shit."
The man shook his head, annoyed. "The boss has been looking for you", he sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. He turned around, pressed the button on the elevator, allowing it to resume moving upwards. This is so much work then I'm wanting to deal with. Wrath, you're always so troublesome, always causing. Enjoy the fun you're having playing human now.
"Yeah, well I don't know who the fuck wrath is, I personally like for you fuck off now!", Nadia growled.
The man let out a deep, troubled sigh. "Eventually, you're going to be forced back into servitude like the rest are." With those words, the man turned into black smoke, disappearing into the cracks in the elevator.
Nadia waited for a moment, eyes scanning around, waiting for an attack or anything similar. Once it seemed like that man wasn't coming back she finally decided to calm down. Nadia relaxed her stance, taking in a deep breath that she instantly regretted. The entire elevator smelled like sulfur, a very potent smell that made her gag. Doing her best to hold her breath, she couldn't help but be nervous about the man who confronted her.
She knew that if he, Sloth, showed up to find her, then she would be in big trouble. The elevator finally opened up, and with no hesitation she rushed out the door past two people that were waiting at the door. Their nose wrinkled at the smell behind her as they stepped into the elevator.
Trying not to feel embarrassed at that, Nadia looked at the numbers, quickly finding the numbers for room 408. She made a left from the exit of the elevator. Oddly enough, the entire hospital was empty today besides staff, there weren't many others.
As she walked down the hallway, she saw a couple of police officers standing in front of the door. Quickly digging through her satchel, she found her detective badge, flashing it at the police officers. The policemen didn't say anything as they opened up the door, allowing her into the room.
At the sound of the door clicking open, Alex's head perked up from the book she was reading. Nadia saw a huge smile form on her face as she walked into the room. "Finally, Dee, I've been so bored of sitting here, please save me!"Alex pleaded, eyes wide open with small tears forming. Her bottom lip quivered as she stared deeply at Nadia.
Nadia had a sweat drop appear at the back of her head, just rubbed her face exhausted with today already. "Remember, both of your legs are broken, so unfortunately you'll be stuck here for a little bit."
"Ugh, listen you can put me on your back, and we can escape out the window!"
"I'd rather not, plus I don't think I'm strong enough to survive a fall from this height.", Nadia refuted, back turned as she moved to go get a chair out the corner of the room.
"Common, we both know that's not true", Alex whined.
Nadia let out a deep sigh, as she turned with the chair in hand. She noticed the raised eyebrow on Alex's face, finding it strange as she sat the chair down next to her bed. "What's with that look on you face?"
"Nadia, I know," Alex replied.
"Know what?", Questioned Nadia
Alex threw her hands up, in frustration. "I saw you fight the giant skeleton thing, even though
Small beads of sweat going down the back of her shirt as Nadia groaned, putting her hands in her hands. So many thoughts going through head, where can she even start? The random guy attacked her in the elevator making no headway in the case at all.
Now Alex is able to see the supernatural, which in itself is hard to explain. What happens if she thinks that she can get involved? Knowing Alex, she would totally want to help because herself is involved. Nadia let out another groan, not knowing how to navigate any of this. Hopefully Blake, and Gabriel are having a better Saturday then she was.
