The fight with Doctor Lizard took Peter nearly an hour, and the subsequent research took a full six hours.
When he returned, the sky outside was already bright.
Peter's body had rested a bit and was in high spirits.
And Peter's spirits, to be honest, had always been quite high.
After all, he was still young.
The most important thing was that he felt he got along really well with the Amazing Spider-Man.
Just like he said before, they were like brothers from different mothers.
It was even the twin type.
Although Shadow Spider-Man had also given Peter a considerable influence, his tone was too gloomy, which didn't quite match Peter's youthful spirit, making them somewhat incompatible.
Peter first glanced at the glowing web in his mind.
It was a bit of a pity that, after Shadow Spider-Man, the light point of Amazing Spider-Man also stopped glowing.
This meant that he couldn't go to the universe of Amazing Spider-Man for the time being.
He didn't know when the next light point would open, nor did he know whether that light point would be the two parallel universes he had been to, or a new universe he hadn't been to.
However, perhaps he could just take care of things on his side first.
Since Aunt May wasn't home, he immediately flipped out of bed, sat at the table, and rewrote the SPC-120703 Polymer Biomass Fiber Synthesis Plan and the Web-Optical Microscope Eyeglasses.
SPC-120703 is composed of three parts. "SP" is an abbreviation for Spider-Man. "C" is an abbreviation for copy. 120703 is the designation for the Amazing Spider-Man's universe.
Combined, it means a web-fluid copy from the Spider-Man of the 120703 universe. Simple and clear.
Of course, it's just a convenient designation for distinction.
In reality, unless Peter says something, no one would associate it with the Spider-Man from a parallel universe.
Before he could finish writing, it was time for school.
So Peter brought his unfinished work to school and secretly wrote during class.
The teacher looked at Peter, who was writing furiously, and felt gratified. He praised him for already being so smart and still working so hard, urging the other students to learn from him.
Especially Flash.
So: Flash's mental defenses broke +1, HP -1, hate value +1.
In the lab during class.
Because the web fluid had just been replenished, Peter wasn't secretly making web fluid this time. Instead, he was openly working on the SPC-120703 Polymer Biomass Fiber Synthesis Plan and the Web-Optical Microscope Eyeglasses.
He needed to create samples to convince Tony Stark.
Of course, it wasn't like he wanted to be so open about it.
Initially, he had been researching in secret, out of habit.
It was just that Ned, that fat guy, had come over to chat again, which attracted the teacher's attention too.
At that moment, Peter was putting the Web-Optical Microscope Eyeglasses on the lab's optical microscope, observing a tiny bit of the freshly made SPC-120703 Polymer Biomass Fiber, and didn't have time to hide it.
So, he was caught by the teacher.
Helpless, Peter once again brought up the name of Stark Industries' internship project, explaining that it was a task assigned to him by Mr. Stark.
The teacher was very happy to hear this.
Being connected to a big company like Stark Industries made him feel honored.
Not only did he not blame Peter, but he also asked if Peter needed any other help, telling him to ask.
Thus, Peter inexplicably got a "pass" to use the school's lab for free.
It could be considered a blessing in disguise.
At lunchtime, Peter tried to contact Tony Stark to promote his two research samples.
However, the message he sent was like a stone sinking into the sea; there was no reply at all.
This made Peter quite helpless.
He was, after all, a prospective Avenger. Couldn't they be a little less dismissive?
Unfortunately, Stark Tower was in Manhattan, a considerable distance from his home in Queens, and separated by a river. It wasn't easy to get there.
Going back and forth... the time after school was just too tight.
If Aunt May wasn't home, he might have been able to try.
But with Aunt May at home, he had to be there for dinner.
If he'd found the opportunity during the two days Aunt May was out, and decisively brought the experimental sample to Stark Industries, perhaps he wouldn't be in this predicament now.
Alas, there were no "ifs."
And so, several days passed, and finally, the weekend arrived.
Still, no new worlds appeared. Peter spent these days going about his business as usual.
As your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, he worked on training exercises in his suit and chatted with Karen. He also continued to explore new applications for his web-shooters in the school library and lab.
And, it must be said, he actually made some progress.
But that could wait.
Because today, Peter had a more important activity.
To go see Tony Stark!
Peter slung his backpack over his shoulder, stuffed with the allowance he'd saved up over the past few days, and hopped on a bus to Manhattan.
After a great deal of trouble, he finally arrived at the foot of Stark Tower, and then...he was stopped.
No matter how Peter explained it, the security personnel at the entrance didn't believe that a kid like him knew Tony Stark.
In desperation, Peter had to "find another way."
He arrived at an alley near Stark Tower, put on his Spider suit, and swung directly towards Stark Tower. He then ran up the side of the building.
He reached the roof and hadn't even steadied himself when his Spider-Sense triggered.
"Detecting unidentified visitor. Preliminary assessment: Unauthorized intrusion. Activating self-defense mode," a robotic voice announced.
Immediately, a section of the ground opened, and an Iron Armor flew out, speeding towards Peter.
Peter was slightly startled and quickly jumped away from where he was.
"Mr. Stark, I'm Spider-Man, not an intruder."
"Authorization information not found in the database. 'Spider-Man' classified as unauthorized intrusion. Self-defense mode authorized to continue."
The alarms in the room continued to blare.
Peter muttered, "I thought I was an apprentice Avenger? It's one thing for the security downstairs to stop me, but why doesn't the system even recognize me?"
Peter dodged the Iron Armor's attacks, grumbling.
He actually wanted to test how powerful the Iron Armor was.
But he was afraid he'd break it, and Tony Stark would make him pay.
After all, he was already in the wrong for "illegal intrusion." He also had a project needing investment, but instead of saying anything, he'd get his butt kicked for damaging an Iron Armor worth at least millions.
It didn't seem right.
"Re-evaluating the illegal intruder's strength, increasing self-defense level!"
As Peter dodged the first Iron Armor's attack, another voice announced.
Then, BOOM—
Boom—
Two more Iron Armors flew out.
