Upon arriving in front of Liana's apartment,
"Mom, can we do this every Sunday?" Rey asked from behind the car window.
"Of course... If Rey has time, we can do it again later," Liana replied.
"Really? With Dad too, right?" Rey clarified.
"Hmm... Rey, just you coming is enough for me. Promise me not to trouble your dad in the future, okay? You know he's very busy working at the hospital lately," Liana explained, gently stroking Rey's cheek.
"Yes, Mom. Rey loves you, Mom Liana," Rey said, hugging Liana through the car window.
"Can we go now, Rey? Dad has to work tonight," David interjected.
"Yes, Dad. Bye, Mom Liana, see you again," Rey said, waving at Liana.
David finally drove the car away. Upon arriving home, David, who was about to invite Rey out of the car, saw that Rey was already fast asleep in the back seat.
"This kid always falls asleep. Luckily, I managed to control his mood today. Otherwise, he might be angry at me until tomorrow," David muttered, carrying Rey out of the car.
"Sir... Let me carry the young master to his room," said Uncle Will, who had just come to David.
"Alright, Uncle, please take Rey to his room. I have to go to the hospital right away. Please look after him while I'm gone," David said, transferring Rey into Uncle Will's arms.
"Very well, Sir,..." Uncle Will replied briefly, immediately heading to Rey's room.
The next morning was Liana's first day of work at her dream company. The girl had truly prepared everything, but in this world, nothing ever goes perfectly smoothly.
At the Bus Stop
"I'm really going to be late today. Where has the taxi I ordered gone? Why hasn't it shown up yet?" Liana worried, continuously checking the watch on her wrist.
Meanwhile, from the opposite direction, a car was seen pulling over and approaching where Liana was standing.
"Liana... What are you doing here...?" asked a mysterious person from the car, who turned out to be David.
"D-doctor, I... I'm waiting for a taxi here. But it seems like it's not coming," Liana explained nervously.
Honestly, every time she met or saw David, Liana always felt nervous and couldn't control her heartbeat.
"The taxi might not come anytime soon. How about I give you a ride? You want to go to work, right?" David explained to Liana.
"But, Sir, I don't want to trouble you. It must be time for hospital operating hours now. It's better if you go first," Liana interjected, understanding David's busy work schedule.
"Come on, it's okay. You've helped me so much with Rey. Besides, it's your first day of work. You shouldn't be late, should you?" David said.
[Liana's Inner Monologue]
"He's right... I'm already running late now."
"So... What do you say?" David asked one last time.
"A-alright, Sir. I'll go with what you say this time," Liana quickly responded, immediately getting into David's car.
During the journey, Liana looked extremely nervous. David, seeing this, finally tried to calm Liana down.
"You know, Rey was a really good boy today. Usually, he refuses to go to his preschool. But this morning, Uncle Will didn't even have to coax him. And I know all that happened because he listened to your advice yesterday," David explained.
Hearing that, Liana smiled faintly.
"Rey is actually a good kid, Sir. Perhaps because he hasn't listened to his mother's advice for too long, he ended up listening to my words instead," Liana clarified.
"You're right. Rey has never met his mother since he was a baby," David simply explained.
Seeing David's expression instantly change made Liana quite curious about what really happened to Rey's mother.
"If I may ask, what actually happened to Rey's mother, Sir? I don't mean to interfere, I just feel sorry for Rey, who is still small but already..." she was cut off because David interrupted her.
"She's gone. That's all you need to know. We've arrived, get out, Liana," David interrupted with a displeased look.
Such a question was truly something David did not want to hear. He became more sentimental when he heard it.
"Alright, Sir. I apologize if my question just now offended you," Liana said, feeling bad for David.
Liana finally got out of David's car.
"It's nothing. I hope your day goes well today. Goodbye," David replied, immediately driving his car away.
"Liana... What did you just say? The Doctor must be annoyed now. Stupid... Liana is so stupid," Liana muttered to herself as she walked, complaining about what she had just done.
Upon entering the company, Liana was truly impressed by its magnificence and luxury. However, she only saw people who looked busy and were walking quickly.
"Is the atmosphere of this company always like this? I really have to try to keep up with it starting now," Liana said to herself.
"Hey, you..." a woman shouted, starting to approach Liana.
"M-me?" Liana asked nervously, pointing to herself.
"Yes, you. You're the new employee here, right?" the woman asked.
"Y-yes, I'm Liana. Nice to meet you," Liana replied nervously.
The woman continued to look at Liana from top to bottom. She didn't know what she was thinking about Liana's appearance.
"If you want to stay in this company, try to fix your clothing style first. Understand...?" the woman said.
"A-alright. I will try to do better next time," Liana said, starting to feel intimidated by the woman.
"Want to work at a fashion company, but don't know how to create a suitable fashion for yourself," the woman added.
"Madam Manager, can you help us? We need suitable recommendations for next week's catwalk style," an employee who also worked at the company interrupted.
"Okay, I'll be right there. And for you, Liana. I'm giving you the task of finding current fashion trends. Find the information in as much detail as possible. You have to get it in less than 1 hour. Do you understand?" the woman asserted.
"Less than 1 hour. (Surprised) A-alright, Ma'am, I will do it," Liana said, actually unsure if she could do it in such a short time, especially since this was a new thing for her.
But no matter the circumstances, she had to remain professional to be accepted well at the fashion company.
