Chapter 12 - Mistress

In his office, David was busy with his work.

"David, this is the project file for the work with Kencana company," said Chelsea, who had just entered the room.

David didn't say much; he immediately looked at every sheet of the file.

"Did you do this yourself?" David asked with a sharp gaze.

"Yes, of course, I did it. You entrusted this project to me, didn't you?" Chelsea explained.

"Seriously? If so, try to explain the contents of this file," David challenged.

Chelsea fell silent, because honestly, she hadn't had time to study the contents of the project proposal that Liana had made.

"Now...? I mean, usually the proposal explanation is done during a meeting. I will explain it later during the meeting with the divisions," Chelsea said nervously.

"But I want to hear it first. Why don't you want to explain it? Is it really you who did it? Or is there someone else behind it?" David pressed, immediately standing up from his chair.

"What do you mean, David...?" Chelsea asked.

"Always asking, always lying, is that all you can do? Don't you know yourself who I entrusted to handle this project, but why is it the new girl who did it instead?" David said sternly.

"David, I..." Chelsea interjected, trying to defend herself.

"Enough. I really hate people who lie like you. Now, get out of my room, and make sure you redo all of this, without anyone's help. If you dare to cheat again, I assure you your feet will not step on the floor of this fashion company again," David stressed, his emotions boiling over.

"Alright, I'll redo it," Chelsea replied, immediately leaving David's room.

In her office, Chelsea became very angry. How could David know that she hadn't done the proposal?

"Did Liana tell him all this? That girl cannot be underestimated. Just wait, Liana, I will make sure you pay dearly for everything I got today," Chelsea said bitterly.

Office hours were over. Liana, who had just left the tall building, was stunned to see a luxurious car parked in front of their building.

"Wow, whose car is that? It looks so luxurious," she muttered with admiration.

The car window slowly rolled down, revealing a man with a sharp jawline looking towards Liana.

"Mr. Doctor, so that's his car," Liana said, approaching David's car.

"Mr. Doctor, you're here, but what for...?" Liana asked curiously.

"I'm here to pick you up. Get in, I'll take you home," David offered.

"Oh, you don't need to go to such trouble, sir. I can go home by myself. Besides, the taxi I ordered will arrive soon," Liana explained.

"Get in. Why are you so difficult to tell, just like Rey? You've just recovered, too," David grumbled.

"I'm difficult to tell, huh, seriously? You know I'm stronger than you think! Just go, I can go home by myself," Liana said, walking away just like that.

"What kind of woman is she, Uncle? Even being picked up in a luxurious car, she doesn't even turn around to go home together," David complained, slightly annoyed.

"Sir, Miss Liana is quite stubborn, just like young master Rey. I think that's why they get along," Uncle Will said with a chuckle.

"Huh, seriously? Then I have to treat her like Rey too," he said, immediately opening the car door and getting out to carry Liana.

Liana, who was walking at that time, was quite surprised when someone suddenly carried her body like carrying a sack of rice over his shoulder.

"Let me go!" Liana struggled, hitting David's back.

"I never accept rejection from anyone, especially from a woman like you," David explained.

David immediately forced Liana into his car.

"How could you do this to me? (She tried to open the car door, which Uncle Will had already locked) Uncle, please open it!" Liana pleaded.

"Can you just be quiet? What's so hard about just sitting down?" David insisted, trying to buckle the seatbelt onto Liana's body.

"Are you trying to kidnap me, sir? Let me go!" Liana protested.

Because he was exhausted, David immediately grabbed Liana's two hands and pinned her two legs with his thighs, then tied his tie around Liana's hands.

Their faces were so close that there was almost no space between them.

Their eyes met and stared quite intensely, until Uncle Will deliberately cleared his throat to break the silence.

"Ahem..." Uncle Will said on purpose.

"What are you doing? Let me go," Liana said.

David, realizing their position, immediately sat back down in his seat.

"You be quiet, and wait until we arrive at your house," David said, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt because he felt hot, even though the car's air conditioning was very cold.

Somehow, he always felt hot when he was with Liana.

During the journey, Liana was busy looking at the crowded streets filled with people going home from work, just like her. She was actually quite happy that someone was giving her a ride home; that way, she could save money on transportation costs.

She glanced at David beside her, who was massaging his temples with his eyes closed. Liana knew that David must also be very tired now, but she was only making him more stressed with her behavior.

Apart from that, she accidentally saw a scratch mark on David's hand. She began to wonder if David had a mistress to satisfy his desires.

"Mr. Doctor, what's wrong with your hand? Why are there scratch marks? Did Rey do it?" Liana asked curiously.

"No, Rey is even much better than the stubborn woman who did it," David said.

"Stubborn woman...? Do you have a mistress, sir? How can you do that when you have Rey in your life? I feel so sorry for him; it turns out his father is a man who has a mistress, no wonder Rey always feels lonely," Liana blurted out, unaware of what she had just said.

"What did you say, a mistress? I don't even have time. Thinking of having a mistress? I'd rather look for a wife then; I could do it more freely," David asserted.

"Then if it's not that, whose scratch mark is on your hand?" Liana asked.

"Don't you remember what you did to me when you were sick yesterday?" David said with a slight smile on his face.

"What do you mean, sir? What did I do? Tell me quickly," Liana pleaded, curious.

"It's too embarrassing to say everything," David teased Liana.

"I'm dead, what did I do yesterday? I can't remember," Liana thought to herself.

"The point is, this scratch is from your own hand. How can the person who did it forget it?" David teased, making Liana's face even redder.

"I'm... I'm sorry, I didn't do it on purpose," Liana said nervously.

"I'm going to die. Where will I put my face after hearing that?" Liana thought, immediately turning her face away from David.

"Miss, we have arrived," Uncle Will said.

"Oh yes, thank you very much, Uncle, for the ride," Liana said, trying to untie the tie wrapped around her hands.

"Here, let me help you," David said, immediately removing the tie from Liana's hand.

"Thank you," Liana said briefly, immediately getting out of David's car.

"Strange girl," David muttered.
