Chapter 26 - Chapter 26 New Gates

Lucas only got a few hours of sleep since he had work to do.

He planned to enter all 6 D-rank gates today before they started to break.

Two of them were kobold cave gates, so he was familiar with them. But there were 2 new types of gates.

Monster Desert Gate (D)

Goblin Colony Gate (D)

There were two of each.

While Lucas would try to clear these D-rank gates with his avatars, his three guild members would clear the F-rank gates that were now half empty.

And the E-rank gates would be handled by the association and the awakend that wanted to help.

More and more awakend started to come forward and wanted to try to become stronger.

Of course not everyone had the same intentions. Everyone had their own reasons they wanted to hunt and grow stronger.

Lucas was now on the way to his first D-rank gate. It was a kobold cave gate. He planned to deal with them first since he knew about them.

After entering the cave, it took Lucas and his avatars about an hour and a half to clear it.

It was much easier killing the boss this time with Ghost's new power.

It also helped that they focused on clearing the gate and not hunting monsters.

Ghost still reached level 12 and Grishna was close to reaching level 14.

After they cleared the gate, Lucas took out every corpse from his inventory and handed them over to his guild's logistics department who were waiting outside with their trucks.

He then headed for the next gate.

This time they cleared it in an hour.

Grishna reached level 14 this time and Lucas had 10 avatar points right now.

After doing the same with the monster corpses they finally headed for their first new D-rank gate.

Sarah,Ruben and Chima also cleared 5 of the 11 new F-rank gates already.

While on the way to the new gate, Lucas was lost in thought.

'There are no longer level restrictions to evolve my avatars, that's good.'

'But I think I'm going to summon a C-rank avatar next, instead of evolving someone.'

'Even though I prefer quality over quantity, I need more avatars. Both for numbers and versatility.'

'It's also getting harder to get avatar points since leveling up is getting more difficult. So it's better to have more avatars.'

Lucas soon arrived at the gate.

It was the Goblin Colony gate.

He thought it was the safer option since he was familiar with goblins.

Lucas greeted the members of the logistics department before entering.

After entering with Grishna and Krasbert, they were standing in the middle of a forest once again.

Lucas summoned Ghost.

"Ghost and Grishna go scout in different directions. Krasbert and I will move together just to be safe."

They all responded.

"Understood master!"

Lucas found out a while ago that him and his avatars could always sense eachother even when far away.

After walking for a while they still didn't encounter any goblins.

'This is weird.'

But soon Lucas reached the end of the forest and realized that the forest was on a large hill.

Down in front of the forest there was a large grass field and in the middle was what looked like a giant village with mostly just small wooden huts and fences.

'No wonder the gate is called a colony. There's so many. Probably over a thousand.'

Soon Grishna and Ghost met up with him and reported that they couldn't find anything.

But they quickly realized why. Lucas had already found their colony.

Ghost then said something.

"Master, this will be difficult. Even though individually they probably won't be a problem, they have too many numbers for us to get through."

"And it's in the middle of the day, so a night raid is out of question."

Lucas responded.

"Yes I agree."

"I bet both the gate core and boss monster are in that giant hut in the middle."

Grishna responded.

"I agree master. What should we do?"

"Fuck. We can't waste time here. I need a plan."

Krasbert replied.

"Master do we need a plan? It's just stupid and weak goblins. Let's just run through them and kill everyone in our way."

'This guy…'

Grishna responded.

"We don't even know their strength yet, you idiot."

"Ha! You are just a coward."

"What?!"

Lucas interrupted them.

"Both of you shut up."

They both became quiet.

Lucas then tried something.

'Can I use Odin's Eye from such a distance?'

He used Odin's Eye.

He could see small figures with letters above their heads.

Goblin

Level: 2

Rank: F

.

Hobgoblin

Level: 6

Rank: E

.

Hobgoblin Warrior

Level: 10

Rank: D

When Lucas focused on the newly discovered hobgoblin warrior, he saw that they had strong stats for their rank and a few low level skills.

The Boss monster however was too far away for him to use Odin's Eye on.

After a long count of the visible goblins, Lucas had an estimate.

"There are over 500 F-ranks, over 200 E-ranks and around 50 D-ranks."

"There could be more, but I think it's a good guess."

Grishna responded.

"You have amazing eyes master!"

"Yeah. But it seems that even gates of the same rank have different difficulties."

Ghost replied.

"Yes I agree."

Lucas was pondering what to do.

'I guess we don't have a choice.'

"Grishna, Krasbert and me will attack from the front as a distraction. In the meantime Ghost will infiltrate from the side and aim for the head of the boss and destroy the gate core."

"Everyone in agreement?"

They simultaneously responded.

"Yes master!"

"Good. Once everyone is in position we start."

They quickly started moving.

Thankfully Ghost had the camouflage skill and could easily get to his position.

The others, on the other hand had no choice but to sprint forward until they were discovered.

Once they were close enough, the goblins and hobgoblins on the fences saw them and sounded the horn.

Before the goblins could assemble, Lucas and the others broke through the front fence and started killing goblins left and right.
