This kind of situation is common in dramas. The male lead stares at his girlfriend flirting with another man, fueling jealousy. Initially planning to buy coffee at the cafe, Callum is forced to abandon his plan. He immediately grabs the assistant's hand and quickly exits the cafe before Cliff notices their presence. If Edith were enjoying coffee alone, she would certainly choose to spend her free time with her lover at the cafe.
Callum hated the current situation. He kept flipping his shirt collar and loosening his tie. "How dare that bastard ask my girlfriend out here!"
"Callum, you should calm down. Aren't you and Edith in a relationship now?"
"But Cliff must have been playing with Edith all this time! I know he pretended to be nice to Edith, but he was actually trying to take advantage of her." He ruffled his hair in annoyance. "I don't want to see Edith cry because of that bastard. I want Edith back."
"I'm sure you can win her heart back. Haven't you hired her as your secret nanny and personal designer?"
"Edith must still be awkward with me since we've just met. Should I treat her a little too kindly so she'll listen to me?"
Patrick patted his boss on the shoulder. "Actually, I can see it in her eyes every time she sees you. Even though she has amnesia, her heart still cares for you. So, I'm sure you'll love each other again like before."
"Actually, I'm very relieved that she doesn't remember the bad memories of her past. But, on the other hand, I want her memories back, so she doesn't treat me like a stranger."

Meanwhile, Edith remained awkward in front of Cliff. She swallowed nervously when Cliff took the initiative to wipe the sweat off his face with a handkerchief. For some reason, when Cliff did it, she felt uncomfortable. Although she had always thought Cliff was her ex-boyfriend, her heart strongly rejected his special treatment. What had really happened to her relationship with Cliff in the past?
She tilted her head back for a moment and cleared her throat. She tried to defuse the awkward atmosphere. "By the way, are you really new here? I don't like keeping people waiting for me too long."
"I really wasn't lying to you! I just got here too." Cliff took a sip of his black coffee. "What made you want to see me all of a sudden?"
"Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something. I hope you don't feel offended."
"Whatever it is, I definitely won't be offended."
"It seems like from now on you shouldn't see me too often."
Cliff furrowed his brows. His premonition suddenly began to sour. Could it be that his ex-fiancée was remembering something? Why was she suddenly acting cold towards him?
"Why? I could have helped you."
"Because I don't want you to help me too often. I understand you took the initiative because you wanted to protect me. But now I can do everything on my own. Even though my stepfamily hates me, that doesn't mean I'll give up."
"You will be very lonely because no one will defend you."
Edith's smile widened as she stared out the window beside her. "I'm not lonely because I have Eliana now. Besides, Renata is always with me wherever I go."
"Edith, I'm actually still curious. Why are you acting like this to me all of a sudden? Does Eliana hate me?" A ragged breath escaped his lips. "If she hates me, I'll definitely improve my behavior. I'll be a good uncle to her."
"Eliana actually really likes you. She complimented you, but she only likes you as an uncle. She also said you wouldn't be a good father."
"Then, I will be a good uncle to her."
"Cliff, thank you for helping me all this time. But, for Eliana's sake, I've asked Renata to stop being her nanny. From now on, I'll be spending more time with my daughter."
Cliff clenched his fists tightly. He was actually yelling at his ex-fiancée, whose stubbornness had always been unwavering. That was why he decided to cheat on her with another woman, fed up with dealing with a woman who wouldn't give in to his desires. Should he do the same thing he did before? But if he did, would he actually make Edith go back to Callum?
"Cliff, if you ever wanted to talk to me, you could have come find me. I'm not saying this to be hostile to you. I'm doing it for Eliana."
"Don't worry. I'm alone like you. I'll definitely look for you if I feel lonely."
"You were born into a wealthy family and are an only child. With your wealth, wouldn't you be happy?"
"No. In fact, wealth does not guarantee a happy life."
After school, Edith performed her first duty as Erdin's secret nanny. She picked the children up from school and then took them out for ice cream at the ice cream shop she and her daughter usually frequented.
Edith hadn't expected Erdin to also love Eliana's favorite ice cream. This way, she wouldn't have to worry about what Erdin liked, because he would surely like the same things as Eliana.
"By the way, does your dad often take you to eat ice cream here too?"
Erdin nodded, swinging his legs. "My dad always takes me to get ice cream here. He said my mom used to love it here, too."
Edith was actually becoming increasingly curious about Callum. Until now, Callum hadn't said anything to her. All she knew now was that her role was to be a secret nanny. She had to keep a close eye on Erdin.
"Did your father ever tell you about your mother?"
"Actually, my father is very sad every night before bed. I've seen him cry several times. He also rarely smiles."
Edith furrowed her brows. Based on Erdin's account, her view of Callum was completely different. When she'd seen Callum last night and this morning, he'd always smiled at her. Should she stay at Callum's house until he got home from work today?
