The next day, Edith drove Eliana to school. This time, she met Callum, who was also driving his son to school. When she saw Callum in his suit, her heart immediately fluttered. Even though they had only met the night before, she felt as if she had already fallen in love. She tried to maintain her professional demeanor because she still held onto her principle of not falling in love easily with anyone, including Cliff.
"I didn't expect you to drop your son off earlier than yesterday, Callum," Edith greeted with a friendly smile.
Callum also returned the gesture with a happy smile. He almost reached out to grab his girlfriend's hand. If he hadn't been thinking clearly, he would have grabbed it openly without a second thought.
"Because I just happened to deliver it early."
"By the way, starting today, I'll be working at your house. You also happened to be at school early, so I wanted to chat with you."
"What do you want to talk about?"
Edith looked down shyly, pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I wonder what Erdin likes. I've been taking Eliana out for ice cream. Would he mind eating ice cream with me?"
"He actually really likes ice cream. You should invite him to eat ice cream with you and your daughter."
"Then, what else does he like?"
"You can also take him to the playground. If he's tired, you can just take him to my house. You can use any of the facilities in my house. Just think of my house as your home."
"But why do you trust me so easily? You're a CEO, you should be wary of me too."
Callum moved his lips closer to the red ones that had tempted him in the morning. "Because I can read your mind. You're truly dependable."
Edith blinked nervously as she clutched her skirt. "Okay, I'll pick Erdin up this afternoon."
"If my son is naughty, you must report him to me."
"Don't worry, I can handle it. Besides, you hired me as your secret nanny. I won't let you down."

Callum still hadn't had enough of his morning conversation with Edith. So, upon arriving at the office, he continued to pace back and forth, babbling. His assistant, who heard him, simply resigned himself to it, not daring to protest. Since Callum and Edith separated five years ago, Callum had rarely smiled and had always been known as a cold CEO. However, this was the first time he had seen him smile since last night. He actually knew the reason, as he was finally able to meet Edith after five years.
"I wish I could have bought more time," Callum grumbled, ruffling his hair.
"Callum, I know you're really happy to see your ex-girlfriend. But can you calm down for a moment?"
"Patrick, how can I calm down now? Meeting Edith after five years apart is a miracle for me. I've finally found her."
"But why are you only now wanting to approach her? She never changed her boutique's address. You could have come to her whenever you wanted."
"I could have met her. But the accident we had five years ago was no ordinary accident. Someone still wants to kill us. That's why I didn't want to meet her until the time was right. I didn't expect Edith to choose the right school for our daughter."
"Actually, yesterday, when I was pretending to be a foreigner, I felt really weird. Especially when Edith looked at me like a stranger, I felt like she wasn't really Edith."
"Even if Edith doesn't remember all of our moments, I won't mind. I want to start over with her. If I truly love her, then Edith will be comfortable with me, and she will definitely love me."
"Actually, I really support your relationship with Edith getting better. So, what about Arabella?"
Hearing the name of the woman he hated, his smile immediately faded. He folded his arms and glared at his assistant with a grimace.
"The reason I made Edith my secret nanny was because I wanted to protect her from that woman. She'd been pressuring me to marry her. I knew she was just trying to take advantage of me." A ragged breath escaped his lips. "Moreover, that woman was the first person to greet me when I woke up. She claimed to be my lover. I almost believed her."
Patrick patted his boss on the shoulder. "It's a good thing you remember your past moments with Edith. If you had amnesia, I'm sure you would have married Arabella long ago."
"But when she admitted she was my girlfriend, I actually felt something was off. For some reason, I felt like Arabella wasn't my girlfriend. I've known that from the start."
"Then, what if you tried it directly on Edith? Would Edith be sensitive?"
Callum shook his head slowly. "No. I'm sure Edith would think I'm crazy because I know her so well. She's always been stubborn and thought I was weird when we first started dating."
"So, you're still going to investigate Arabella secretly?"
"Because Arabella is the woman I wanted to marry five years ago. To this day, she's been chasing me and refusing to let me go. If there was a way to get rid of her, I would have done it a long time ago."
"Then, what about Cliff?"
"Actually, I still suspect him too. Especially since Edith admitted that she actually has a boyfriend."
"What?! Don't tell me Edith is dating Cliff again!"
Callum looked at his assistant with a mischievous smile. "This is your current assignment. I want you to monitor Edith discreetly. If she really is dating Cliff, you must report it to me."
"But, it's impossible for Edith to want to date that jerk."
"If Edith hadn't already discovered Cliff's true nature, she would have become his girlfriend. Especially since Cliff has been the one talking to her so often."
Suddenly, a professional-looking woman entered the room. Callum and Patrick stopped their conversation and greeted the uninvited guest with forced smiles.
