After getting back to Selene's apartment, Evelyn started making plans to look for her own place.
"In as much as I love living with you, it isn't viable in the long term"
Selene understood that as well. Although close friends, they were adults with their own lives and needed some privacy in certain things.
She stretched her legs on the sofa, flipping channels absentmindedly, while Evelyn sprawled on the rug, face buried halfway into a throw pillow.
"I swear," Evelyn mumbled, "if I have to look through one more apartment listing filled with white walls and beige floors, I'll scream."
Selene chuckled. "That's half the city. People are obsessed with minimalism these days."
"Minimalism?" Evelyn peeked at her. "More like emotional emptiness painted over with eggshell paint."
Selene laughed so hard she almost dropped the remote. "You're impossible."
"I'm honest," Evelyn said with mock solemnity before collapsing back onto the rug.
