The next day, Evelyn got dressed in a white skirt and small pink top. She carried her bag and got into her gorgeous car.
She sighed and ran a hand over the lush pink interior. It was so nicely done. Money well spent, if she said she herself.
She drove steadily, familiarizing herself with the road once more.
The place where they agreed to meet was a twenty minute drive from her house. A small coffe shop tucked in a corner. She got there and stepped inside, immediately catching sight of the woman.
She was dressed in a black suit and black pants with her hair pulled up in a no nonsense ponytail. Evelyn walked over and sat down.
The lady observed her openly.
"Miss Carter?"
Evelyn nodded.
"Ms Vance?"
She nodded with a small smile.
"Thank you for coming. Is there anything you'd like to order? This cafe has the best pistachio croissants."
Evelyn declined. She hated pistachio. And wasn't really in the mood for small talk either.
