Nathan's office was dead quiet when his phone started ringing.
The moment he saw Chloe's name flash across the screen, his instincts told him it wouldn't be anything good. Still, he answered. Because he knew who she was going to see today.
"How did it go?"
Chloe sighed softly.
"I just came from a meeting with her. She knows about the shares..and she's willing to sell them to you."
Nathan scoffed.
"She wasn't hit in the head by a donkey was she? How could she be so kind?"
Maybe, she would have done this before but now that their relationship was like this, Nathan didn't believe it. Unless...
Chloe's voice pulled him out of his thoughts.
"You didn't let me finish. She's giving you three days to buy them at market price, or she'll sell them to any one of your father's illegitimate children."
Nathan felt a vein tick in his forehead and laughed angrily. He knew it. She couldn't possibly be so kind.
