This method had been used before to deal with the Lizard Doctor when he was in an irrational state, but now, the same method was proving insufficient against the rational Lizard Doctor.

Peter used Webbing to cover his eyes, grabbing Lizard Doctor's hands and putting his legs to work.
Crack! Lizard Doctor's newly grown tail snapped off again.
But this time, he didn't hide it. He continued to exert force, and his tail grew back again.
"Whoa, okay, lizards can regrow their tails, but Doctor, your speed is too, too, too fast, isn't it?" Peter had already escaped while the tail was breaking off before.
He retreated to the other end of the narrow space, putting distance between himself and Lizard Doctor.
"Bug!" Lizard Doctor roared, tearing away the webbing that obscured his vision. "Why are you obstructing me? Why? Once my plan succeeds, everyone will have the same powerful abilities I do! No one will be sick again, no one!"
"But, Doctor, it's just wishful thinking!" Peter argued. "Others may not want to give up being human."
"No, this is glorious evolution, a great, supreme path of evolution. If they don't want it, it's because they haven't experienced this wonder!" Lizard Doctor wore an expression of rapture. "One day, they will understand!"
Peter thought Lizard Doctor was beyond saving.
Should he just kill him?
Peter shook his head quickly, not knowing why he had suddenly thought that.
But once the thought arose, it was like a weed taking root, growing and multiplying.
He thought that if he didn't stop Lizard Doctor, if he couldn't find a way to stop him, once his plan was implemented, the Lizard Serum would be spread to Manhattan, Queens, even the whole of New York!
What would the world be like then?
Peter returned home, and Aunt May in her Lizard-Man form called out, "Peter, come, dinner is ready."
Peter walked to the table.
Aunt May opened the lid, revealing a pot of soup made with mice.

However, to make him kill someone, relying on Peter himself and Amazing Spider-Man alone, without the ruthlessness of Shadow Spider-Man, he still couldn't do it.

He would capture Connors Doctor and hand him over to Captain Stacy.
