Chapter 30 - CHAPTER 30: MOVING IN 3

After they checked the quarters, the two went to check outside for a while before they heard the servants excitedly speaking, and upon eavesdropping, they found out that the madam of the house had arrived.

Liam, upon learning that, his heart pounded like crazy as his cheeks flushed, recalling how she liked teasing him. Thankfully, that wasn't seen by Henry. Otherwise, he might have been teased.

"Your wife is here. Let's go and see her!" Henry eagerly said, dragging Liam along.

Sonia was a legend whom he only saw on TV briefly or in magazines when getting interviewed. She wasn't the kind of person who liked being in the spotlight all the time. So, her public appearances weren't that many.

He was excited to see her.

On the other hand, Sonia was lost in thought as she played with her ring finger as the car approached the mansion.

"Ma'am, we are here!" the driver's voice jolted her out of her thoughts.

"Um," she hummed in response as she looked outside the window.

Upon seeing the familiar entourage waiting for her, a helpless smile appeared on her face.

'He should be exploring, right?'

She alighted from the car and, with the company of servants, she strode towards the mansion.

"Welcome back home, Ma'am!"

She was welcomed by the familiar greeting, and she hummed in response as she passed her handbag over to Sandy, who started reporting to her.

"Ma'am, the master is on his way from checking the gardens. He came with his friend."

Sonia hummed in response as she listened to that.

She had checked Liam's background, including his friends. So, she knew which people he was close to. However, she wasn't certain which friend came with him. Regardless of which friend, she was happy to see any of them.

After all, they have known him longer than her, and she could learn a bit from them and make Liam's life better before he ... never mind. She shouldn't think negatively like that.

There was still hope.

As long as she joins CIRCLE, there might be a way to rid herself of this curse of death hanging over her last husband. She couldn't be a widow now that there was a chance to change it. She would do her best to make him live and make him love her. She didn't want to be left again.

Perhaps in the process, find a way to get rid of her own curse as well. There should be a way, right?

With such thoughts, she stepped into the huge mansion but didn't wait for Liam, who was still not yet close to the mansion, but headed to the main wing.

She has a dinner date with her family and needs to get ready as soon as possible. It was a long drive from the estate to where her parents were living.

So, by the time Liam and Henry entered the mansion, the butler, Mr. Cain, respectfully informed Liam to wait for Sonia on the top floor.

"The madam is leaving in a moment. So, if you want to see her, then it's best if you wait for her there."

With the kind reminder of the butler, Liam thanked the man before he turned to look at Henry.

Henry didn't want to be a light bulb, so he told Liam, "I will wait downstairs here. You go ahead and see her."

The couple had been married but barely spent time together. He might as well give them more time to interact and cultivate feelings.

Liam was grateful when he heard that. He really wanted to spend quality time with this flash wife he got unexpectedly. He knew that she was a busy woman, and since that was the case, every second counts. And he didn't want to waste that.

With that thought in mind, he smiled politely at Henry before he walked away.

Mr. Cain smiled with satisfaction upon seeing Henry's action. He kindly took him to another living room with several entertainment services to keep him entertained.

When Liam reached the top floor, he didn't go to his quarters but sat down at the common lounge between the two quarters as he waited for Sonia.

There were no servants on the floor, so it was just him alone.

Meanwhile, inside Sonia's quarters. After taking a quick shower, she put on the pink dress that Sandy had taken out.

After matching it with appropriate accessories, she took a look at herself for a while and felt very satisfied.

"Ma'am, the master is waiting for you in the main lounge." As Sonia was ready to leave, Sandy's reminder came.

"Um, I will see him before I leave. You can wait for me downstairs and have the car ready," Sonia responded.

"Yes, Ma'am," Sandy answered respectfully as she walked behind Sonia.

When they got to the door, Sandy sped up to open the door and waited until Sonia was out before she followed behind.

She didn't linger there once she was out, but slightly bowed towards the master before making her way to the elevator to prepare for Sonia's departure.

With Sandy gone, Sonia looked at the young man who was standing nervously while watching her.

It's been a day since she last saw him, and he still looked very fine. Those who see him wouldn't even know that he was dying.

What a pity! But thank goodness, this sick and dying man was hers, and she hoped that it would stay that way.

She plastered a smile on her face as she approached the young man, and that blinded Liam, who hadn't seen Sonia smiling a lot. She was always serious. At least from the little he had found online. It was rare to see her smiling.

They called her the ice queen, and honestly, he didn't find that repulsive but quite domineering. It made his mind think about many weird things he felt very ashamed for others to know.

Seeing her smile, it only made his mind conjure even crazier things. He could only suppress that by smiling back, hoping that his eyes weren't betraying him.
