Chapter 36 - CHAPTER 36: WIFE AND HUSBAND!

'Home sweet home!' A smile blossomed on her face as Sonia alighted from the car, and Sandy took her handbag.

It was now around 10 pm, and as she walked towards the mansion, she hoped that Liam was still awake.

"Where is he?" she asked Sandy as she continued to walk.

"The master is in his room. Should we call him downstairs?"

Sonia shook her head as she strode towards the elevator. "Leave him be. I will see him in his room after I change."

Hearing that, Sandy didn't continue with that topic but faithfully relayed what happened when she was gone.

Sonia listened with relish, finding Henry very intriguing and quite a helper.

It seems that she would need to give her husband's friends some thick red envelopes. They deserve it.

In her room, she washed up first before changing into the long gown that Sandy had taken out before leaving.

Sandy was nowhere to be found, which was understandable. After all, once she was done with her night shower, Sonia rarely needed Sandy's assistance.

Thinking about her young husband, whom she was eager to see, Sonia left her quarters and made way towards Liam's.

How long has it been since she walked in that direction?

Two or three years?

She wasn't sure, but it didn't matter. This was also good.

It wasn't long before she was standing right in front of the door. She raised her hand and knocked lightly on the door before waiting.

The house might be hers, but to barge into someone's quarters, Sonia couldn't do that.

So, she waited there, thinking to herself that if he didn't respond after a minute or so, she would knock again. But if it fails, then she would just barge in.

'I should have brought my phone!' she helplessly lamented.

Creak.

But miracles do happen, as before she could knock for the second time, the door opened and Liam was revealed.

"Wife!" his shy voice rang in her ears, and Sonia twitched, the corner of her lips curving upward, feeling very warm at hearing what she wanted from him.

He should have called her that earlier, she greedily thought.

"Babe. I love the sound of that!" she roguishly said as she took a step towards him, a sly grin on her face as she looked at that face that was turning red like the bottom of a baboon.

"You …" Liam couldn't believe what Sonia was doing. How could she be so …..?

He didn't get to finish as he was assaulted by that floral scent that quieted him down.

Sonia hugged the young man, who was slightly taller than her now that she wasn't wearing any heels. She hugged his waist, as she placed her head on his chest, feeling his racing heartbeat.

"You don't know how much I have been itching for this moment!" she confessed directly, her voice not too low or loud, and Liam heard it perfectly.

His hands froze, not knowing where to put them, but his face was completely red, and he felt so shy and overwhelmed by her directness.

He stood there frozen and let her hug him. That lasted for over a minute before Sonia reluctantly took two steps back.

She stood there watching him, and he shyly looked away.

She chuckled with amusement, enjoying the thrilling sensation of bullying him.

"You better get used to it," she teased him with a chuckle and as his face reddened further, she raised her feet and started walking inside. As she passed him, she added, "Let's get inside, we have a lot to talk about!"

"Phew!" He sighed relievedly after Sonia passed.

It was truly very difficult controlling his image with her around.

How could she be so soft and smell so addictive?

"Damn!" he cursed lowly as he looked at the tent that had formed in that short period.

Was he going to save face or lose it with the way it was going?

Liam dejectedly turned around and closed the door as he followed Sonia in.

When he found her, she was sitting in the lounge, her legs crossed over each other, and he swallowed hard.

Despite not seeing much since she was wearing something long, Sonia was a blessed woman with curves. It was very hard to hide her assets.

Liam, like a good boy, sat across from her. He wanted to look at her face as they talked.

Just like what Henry said, he needed to take the initiative. He couldn't remain shy forever, right?

What if she meets someone bold and gets tired of him?

Sonia smiled triumphantly as she watched the young man's emotions, which he quickly masked, but still were seen by her.

She didn't reach this position by luck.

"Have you settled down well?" The moment she saw that he was slightly relaxed, she started asking.

Liam didn't cower but responded quickly, "Yes, I did. Thank you for having me!"

She waved at him nonchalantly as she responded, "That's good. Take this as your home. As long as you continue to have me in your heart, it will remain so, but if not, then I guess ….." She didn't finish her words, but he understood her well.

He clenched his jaws as he felt slightly hurt with those words, but when he thought about what she went through, he calmed down and looked at her with earnestness.

"I know that words are worthless, especially to you. So, I will use my actions to show and prove that I will be a good husband. This is my first time being a husband, but I will do my utmost best to be a good one. I might be lacking in many things, but I will work hard to make you a proud wife. So don't give up on me fast," with clenched fists, he poured his heart to her.

If he continues to remain quiet, she might never know what he was thinking.

Sonia was taken aback by Liam's sudden confession. Although she had an inkling that he might have some feelings for her. She didn't think that it was this serious. Her heart itched, wanting to grab the young man and embrace him in her warm arms, but she held herself back.

Didn't they all say the same when they started?

She wasn't going to show easily how much he was affecting her.
