Seeing the coffee spilled on the office floor and the closeness between Rahul and Tanya, Komal's face remained unfazed. Sawan thought Komal would be jealous or yell at Rahul, but Komal, like a stone statue, turned and walked away. Sawan, with his 7-foot stature, stood there, staring at him. Her indifference stung him deeply.
Sawan went to the office coffee shop to calm himself down. He was sitting there waiting for his coffee when a gossipy colleague came and sat next to him.
Sawan looked a little nervous, so she asked, "What's wrong, Sawan? You seem very upset." Keeping his voice calm, Sawan replied, "No, just a little work stress. By the way... what's going on between Komal Ma'am and Rahul?"
The girl smiled mysteriously at Sawan and said, "Sawan, you're new, so you don't know. When Komal joined here, the boys in the office made a bet on who would woo her first. Rahul won that bet. They've been together ever since, and now it's even a matter of marriage. I hear they're getting married next month."
As soon as Sawan heard the word "marriage," his mind went blank. His vision darkened, and a noise echoed in his ears. He cursed Rahul inwardly, "Stupid woman! You're part of a bet, and you don't even know it."
Sawan's anger was spiraling out of control, but he controlled himself. He forced a smile and said to the girl, "Well, that's big news. Anyway, enjoy your coffee, I have some work to do." He got up and walked out quickly. The girl was looking at him from behind, thinking, "I like Rahul, but he's obsessed with Komal."
On the other side, Rahul was cleaning his shirt in the bathroom. Looking at his face in the mirror, he muttered with a wicked smile, "Oh my! Smart God! I never thought Tanya would hit on me. Komal is old now, and besides, Tanya's family is very wealthy. If I get Tanya, my luck will shine."
Rahul changed his wet shirt and went back to his desk. He considered himself a great player. He felt he could make both Komal and Tanya dance to his tune.
Aryan returned to his seat. His face was calm, but his eyes were staring at Rahul like a predator. Rahul sat at his desk, but deep inside, he was furious with Saavan. She looked at Saavan and whispered, "My expensive clothes got ruined because of you. You'll pay for this, Junior!"
Aryan ignored her, but his fingers were clenching their fists under the table so hard that his fingernails were imprinted on his palms.
