Chapter 19 - The Morningstar (pt.2)

The Third Step

______________________

Shura took her final step in the war of preservation. The unyielding flame of the first star bursting forth within the material universe, engulfing the vacuum of empty space. Her very essence healed the life that was brought forth from her birth, enriching the very particles themselves at a fundamental level.

The spiralling galaxies flowed along with the hypnotic sway of her dance that intertwined cosmic laws. The stars birthed from her mere existence were being engulfed in darkness, yet she continued to stride through the complex structure.

Trailing behind her was the ever-consuming darkness that she was all to familiar with. She could only watch as the very people who followed her, were engulfed by the void and never to be seen again.

The Last Star

The cosmic constraints that held the universe together were torn apart. Galactic structures loss their momentum and dispersed within the absolute void. Life began to cease and the end was here.

Shura struggled against the entangling darkness though each gesture of her wing altered the very fabric of reality. She was seemingly rewriting the very laws that were built upon her birth, crafting a new structure from the remains of the old.

She did not need to move at the speed of light as that was but a mere universal limitation that her essence exceeded. Speed could not describe her movement, distance could not describe her position. She moved the moment she wanted, nothing more & nothing less.

Then it happened. The flicker of existence since her creation. A hole opened in the middle of her chest with no indication of being attacked. It simply just happened.

"Wha--?!"

Her divine voice that danced with melody was now stained with exhaustion and loss hope. Yet, she still fought tirelessly against the very entity that brought forth the end.

Each pillar of multicolored light altered the state of existence, eating away at the swirling darkness with no end.

"So...that was your plan all along."

Shura did not respond though she did acknowledge that the entity was aware of her true plan. Though this did not deter her from the path she took, circling up the very 'body' of the entity that over exceeded the size of the universe.

"If I can't kill you, I'll just trap you away"

She was resolute with her statement, unwaivering in her faith of defeating the end of all things.

"And the last star of existence inevitably fell to the clutches of the end....until that very same star became something that logic could not describe. It was a symbol of fear & hope."

The pitch black void violently erupted into an explosion of unfiltered light. This time, there wasn't just one complex structure built to sustain the infinite. It was a layer of complexity beyond the first, a boundless state of ever changing material ruled by their own cosmic law.

"From 1 to 2. A Parallel Universe is born"

.

"You can't be serious right now. This guy is my opponent?"

Niyah Monroe exclaimed with a hint of sarcasm and noticeable disappointment, inspecting the opponent that was sent to defeat her.

"I think it's wise if you remain humble"

The man spoke with a tone devoid of humanity. His tone was as cold as the vacuum of space snuffing out the last heat of the universe. His gaze behind the shadowed hood that kept his face hidden was sharp and calculating, piercing into the very depths of Niyah's soul.

Her left eyebrow subtly twitched in annoyance at the lack of emotion in her opponent voice. It was clear that she disliked the introverted response given to her.

With a sigh of subtle reluctance, she slid into a solid fighting stance and beckoned for her opponent to strike first.

Her stance is sturdy, slightly wide, and relaxed which gave off the impression that she was not taking this seriously. Though, this was not the case as her senses were on high alert, eyes honed in on the stationary target that was the hooded figure.

Then the cloaked man stepped forward. The back of his fist already connecting to the side of Niyah face, forcing her head to turn the same way as the strike, whilst her body stumbled to the side in a daze at the strength displays.

With recovery beyond sensible nature, Niyah retaliated by latching onto the cloaked man outstretched hand with a solid grip.

This kept herself from stumbling away and the cloaked man from continuing any onslaught.

A fist then struck the cloaked man side, forcing a subtle cough to escape his lips from the unexpected brute strength Niyah just displayed.

This began an exchange of fierces kicks and punches that were sent with lethal precision, which both attempted to break the other guard or find an opening.

"Gotcha"

The man uttered out with a hidden grin behind the shadow of his hoodie. His left arm was raised, blocking an axe kick that was imbued with magical energy, yet he remained unaffected unlike the ground that shattered beneath him from the immense weight.

Unfortunately, Niyah was not quick enough in her recovery and the man pushed against her leg, forcing her off balance whilst airborne and lashing out with a straight punch of his own.

The gesture of his arm reeling back to gain momentum and kinetic energy had sent literal ripples across the space both of them occupied. This phenomenon had registered as a repulsive force within the material world, generating a dense gush of wind that tore the ground apart even further.

The fierce wind ruffled his sleeves and hood, resulting in his face being revealed along with a device that glowed with a subtle golden wisp. His face was well defined, and his eyes were a solid gold, both pupils were shaped as miniature books, waiting to be opened.

Then he struck.

The very force that gave the surrounding particles their atomic structure had became null. The inversion of magical essence flooding forth, imaginary numbers manifesting into reality as supernatural phenomena that alters the very fabric of the dimension.

Original Soul Art #1: Extended Imagination

Niyah no longer remained airborne in front of the head on strike by the golden eyed man, instead she was found right behind him with her arm locked around his own outstretched arm.

With a violent tug, she forced the man and herself to slam against each other's back. The man undeterred by this had stepped forward and swung himself around her, a swift jab aimed at her chin.

Niyah in quick response had released the man arm and allowed the fist to strike true. What the man didn't expect was to strike against a barrier he could not bypass.

'Hm. I can see the imaginary numbers, but the sequence doesn't make sense'

The man exclaimed in his mind with a sense of calm under the intense pressure, deciding to take a different approach by leaping back ten meters.

'I think she might be using magic essence to extend her bio-field. I need to be sure'

The man exclaimed once more within his mind as he observed the woman that was his opponent. He undoubtedly knew she was agile and swift, which added to her unpredictable style of fighting. Though he knew she lacked proper control of her Q-Magi inversion on the biological scale.

Before the man could even blink, he was staring at a black boot which slammed into his face. His head snapped back and his body stumbled backwards, his footing causing him to trip and begin falling.

'Ah damn. Now I have to do this'

Flaming Sword Art #9: Comet

The man regathered his balance far quicker than anything seen by Niyah, then a flame sparked to life with no fuel source. It shone with enough luminosity, forcing Niyah to look away for that single second.

This single second had cost everything.

.

Niyah eyes fluttered open rapidly and her breathing was ragged & heavy, recalling the nightmare she had just moments ago. Eventually, she calmed her nerves and sat in her bed in deep thought.

"It felt so real. So vivid. Those evil golden eyes..."

Niyah exclaimed in a hushed whisper, slowly making her way out the bed to instinctively do her morning routine.

one hour later...

Eventually Niyah was done and left her home with a destination in mind, though the moment her foot stepped outside is when she felt an all too familiar energy source.

"A new soul class has been born."
