Some time after Rey fell asleep, Liana decided to leave the ward.
Upon stepping out, she met David, who was apparently still waiting outside as well.
"You're out. How is Rey?" David asked about his son.
"He's asleep. I want to leave now. Doctor, I don't know why Rey called me 'Mom,' so please don't misunderstand me," Liana said, worried David might misconstrue the situation.
"I know, you don't need to explain further. Rey lost his mother when he was little. He must miss her terribly to have a fever like this; it's quite common. So I apologize for his behavior," David said, bowing slightly as he felt awkward towards Liana.
Hearing that, Liana finally understood why Rey had behaved that way towards her. He was just a little boy who needed extra attention from a mother.
"I see... Poor Rey, he's too young to go through all this. Doctor, if there's anything I can do to help with Rey, I will certainly do it. He's like my own little brother," Liana expressed.
"Thank you. In that case, let Uncle Will drive you home now," David suggested.
"No... no need. I can go home by myself. It would be better if Uncle Will stayed here to look after Rey, because I'm sure the doctor has many patients right now," Liana said, knowing David was a busy doctor.
"But how can I? You were so kind to stay here for a while. How can I let you go home alone?" David wondered.
"It's no problem. I'm used to doing everything myself. So, Doctor, you don't need to worry too much about me," Liana replied.
After finishing her conversation with David, Liana finally decided to go back alone by taking a taxi.
Meanwhile, David resumed his work. He hoped to finish quickly so he could return to Rey's room soon.
After a few hours passed, Rey woke up and looked around. Only Uncle Will was with him in the room.
"Young Master Rey is awake. Is there anything the Young Master would like? Uncle can help," Uncle Will said to Rey.
"Did she leave, Uncle..." Rey murmured, trying to find Liana's presence.
"Who are you looking for, Young Master? Mr. David is currently tending to another patient. He will be back soon," Uncle Will explained.
"Not Dad... Uncle, will you do whatever Rey wants?" Rey asked.
"Of course, Young Master, Uncle will certainly follow whatever the Young Master wishes," Uncle Will stated clearly.
After hearing Uncle Will's assurance, Rey finally decided to go to Liana's apartment without David's knowledge, and he even told Will to keep quiet. Will could no longer do anything since he had promised Rey to obey him.
*Knock... knock... knock (sound of knocking)
"Yes, just a moment..." Liana said, having just finished cleaning her apartment.
When she opened the door, Liana was utterly surprised to see Rey and Uncle Will standing right in front of her door.
"You guys...??? (Surprised)
Rey, why are you here?" Liana exclaimed, startled by the arrival of Rey and Uncle Will.
"Miss, please save me. Mr. David will be angry if he finds out I brought Rey here," Uncle Will anxiously interrupted.
Hearing Will's words, Liana now knew who was behind all this.
"Rey, did you ask Uncle Will to bring you here?" Liana asked sternly while looking at Rey.
"Yes... (Rey said sweetly) Mom, can Rey stay here?" Rey asked, pleading with Liana.
"Rey, your father will be angry if you act like this. And another thing, Uncle Will will get into trouble too; his job will be jeopardized. Please don't do this. You are welcome to stay over or play here, but not to live here permanently. Understand, you good boy?" Liana explained to Rey.
"Yes, Mom, Rey understands. In that case, Rey wants to stay the night here. Can I?" Rey asked.
"Alright, but there is one condition," Liana stated firmly.
"Condition...??? What is it, Mom?" Rey interrupted.
Liana's condition for Rey was to call and ask his father for permission to stay overnight at Liana's apartment.
However, when Rey tried to call David's number, his phone was inactive. Uncle Will then mentioned that David might be in the middle of treating a patient and couldn't be reached. Because of this, they decided to call him later.
"Miss Liana, please watch over the Young Master for a moment. I will return soon with Mr. David to persuade Young Master Rey to come home," Uncle Will requested.
"Alright, Uncle, I will look after him. Be careful on your way," Liana replied as she escorted Uncle Will out.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Will immediately rushed to find David.
"Nurse, where is Mr. David?" Uncle Will asked the nurse in David's office.
"Doctor David is in the operating room right now, sir. Is something important?" the nurse asked.
"Yes, there is... But it's alright. Let Doctor David do his duty first. I will wait here," Uncle Will said, knowing that Liana would take good care of Rey at her apartment.
It was already 10 PM when David finally finished his surgery.
Entering his office
"Uncle Will, what are you doing here? Who is with Rey now? He must be scared," David said, about to head to the room where Rey had been.
"Sir, wait a minute, listen to me. Young Master Rey is currently at Miss Liana's apartment," Uncle Will informed him.
"What! How is that possible? He just woke up, Uncle! How could you take him there without my permission?" David exclaimed, starting to get annoyed.
"Sir, I apologize, but the Young Master forced me to promise to obey his every wish. Besides, Young Master Rey looks much healthier being there. So I couldn't do anything, Sir," Uncle Will explained to David.
"Whatever the reason, I will not let Rey sleep in a stranger's house like that. Take me there, Uncle," David ordered.
"Very well, Sir..." Uncle Will replied.
Upon arriving at Liana's apartment
"Doctor, you've arrived. Come in, Rey is inside," Liana said.
Hearing Liana's words, David immediately stepped inside. He tried to find Rey but couldn't locate him.
"Where is Rey??" David questioned.
"He's asleep in my room. It was very difficult to get him to sleep earlier. It would be better if the doctor didn't wake him up," Liana said.
"But he's my son. I apologize for bothering you this much. I'll take him home now," David said, immediately preparing to carry Rey home.
