Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: New Page

Edith couldn't hold back her tears when she heard her little daughter's words. In fact, five years ago, she had been in an accident that left her unable to remember anything. All she knew now was that she suddenly had a daughter, and her twin sons were reported to have died in the accident. That was what made her heart so heavy now. For five years, she still wondered who her lover really was. One thing she knew for sure was that the man who had been helping her wholeheartedly was Cliff. Was Cliff her real boyfriend even though he hadn't dared to admit it?

"Mom, is Uncle Cliff a good man?" the little princess asked with an innocent look.

Edith rubbed her eyes for a moment. "Do you think Uncle Cliff is a good person?"

"Uncle Cliff seems nice because he sometimes gives me snacks. But, he doesn't seem like a father."

"Why do you think like that, Eliana?"

"Because I feel like Uncle Cliff isn't my father."

If Cliff wasn't her daughter's father, then who was the mysterious father? Was her ex-boyfriend still single or married to another woman? She desperately hoped he was a good man in her eyes. Because her little daughter desperately needed a good father. She also wants to have a loving husband.

"Eliana, you should go to sleep now. You can't sleep late tomorrow because you just changed schools."

Edith was actually forced to send her daughter to bed early because she didn't want to talk about her father, who was still missing from her life. She was very upset with herself for not remembering anything due to the accident she had experienced. When she woke up from her coma, she was warmly greeted by a man named Cliff. She always remembered the kindness Cliff had shown her all this time. Therefore, she thought Cliff was her ex-boyfriend, although Cliff didn't dare admit that Eliana was his daughter.

The next day, Edith took her daughter to her new school. The atmosphere at this new school was different from the previous one. She was very grateful for choosing the right school for her daughter and decided not to transfer again. Each student was accompanied by both parents, while Eliana was accompanied only by his single mother. Edith felt even more guilty towards her daughter for not keeping her promise to find her biological father.

For a moment, Edith crouched in front of her little daughter. "My daughter, on the first day of school, didn't cause any trouble!"

Eliana nodded. "I will not make the teacher angry."

"Can you do everything on your own at the new school? Would you like me to stay with you all day?"

"No need. I can do it all by myself."

"Thank goodness. Then, I'll leave you here. If anything happens, you can ask the teacher to contact me."

Now Eliana walked alone to his classroom. The first time she set foot in a new school, she didn't feel awkward because she easily adapted to the new environment. However, she still felt lonely because she wondered who her real father was. Was he a loving father? She was very envious of all the children here, accompanied by their parents.

As her tiny feet continued to walk through the playground, she suddenly encountered a boy who looked just like her. She and the boy stopped in their tracks and glared at each other. Eliana grew increasingly curious: who was this boy? How could another child look so similar to her? It was impossible for the boy to be her older brother, since her mother had told her, her older brother was dead.

"Who are you?" Eliana asked nervously.

"I'm Erdin. So who are you?"

"I'm Eliana."

Erdin walked slowly toward Eliana and extended his right hand. "We look alike."

Today had been quite a long day for Edith, especially since it was Eliana's first day at a new school. She was very curious about her little daughter's adventures at her new school. Especially since her little daughter had been smiling happily all day, which was unusual for her to smile without any reason. Has her daughter made a really good new friend?

"My daughter, you seem very happy today. Have you made many new friends at school?" Edith asked as she fed her daughter.

"Mom, I think I found my brother."

Edith furrowed her brows, slowly placing the spoon in the bowl. "My daughter, I was told from the beginning that your brother was indeed dead."

"But, I'm sure my new friend is my brother. His face looks so much like mine."

Was what her daughter said true? There was no way her son was still alive, considering she hadn't seen him in five years. So, who had her son been living with all this time? Has her daughter seen things wrong?

"Eliana, maybe there's a coincidence that there's a boy who looks like him. But that doesn't mean he's your brother."

Eliana pursed his lips and lowered his head. "Mom, I'm actually very jealous of other children surrounded by their mothers and fathers. And I don't have a father."

"Then, what about that boy?"

"I asked him. He said he doesn't have a mother either and has been living with his father."

Was this a sign that finding her ex-boyfriend would be easier? She was very curious about who he was. Should she take leave tomorrow to see the boy's father? Why was she becoming more and more convinced that the boy was her son?

ding…dong…

Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Edith was forced to postpone her conversation with her daughter. As she opened the door, she saw a man in a suit approaching her. She stared at him with a frown.

"Who are you?"

"Are you Edith from Star Fashion Boutique?"

"Yes, that's right. What's wrong?"

"My master wishes to see you now. He has something important to discuss with you."

Edith was more curious: who was this uninvited guest? And who was the master who was meeting her now? How did he know her address?
