Evelyn followed him to a quieter corner and he rubbed his hands together.
"Evelyn how do you know Mr. Blackwood?"
Evelyn wasn't surprised. It would only be unusual if he didn't ask about it. She shook her head lightly.
"We're just passing acquaintances."
"How long have you known each other?"
"Not too long."
She could tell Grayson was disappointed in her answer but he quickly perked up again.
"I can see that Mr. Blackwood is a good man. Don't miss this opportunity."
Evelyn smiled.
"I know "
Grayson nodded in satisfaction and rejoined the crowd. Evelyn also went back to her quiet corner.
A few minutes later, there was some commotion at the door and she raised her head. Through the crowd, she was only able to make out the faint figures but they quickly came into view.
Nathan. She should have guessed he would come. He was Grayson's business partner after all.
