The tears welling up in Cassandra's eyes showed she was utterly serious about her request.
But Lilian scoffed, unable to understand how a kiss would help in this situation.
"That's not going to fix anything." She said, keeping her voice practical then added;
"What happened? Why were you lying here unconscious?"
Cassandra's shoulders slouched, relaxing further in Lilian's arm, feeling her touch, breathing in her delicious scent. Cassandra definitely wanted to stay like this longer.
But reality crashed back in.
The vampire- the wolfsbane- the danger!
Her eyes sharpened slightly as awareness returned. She sat up slowly, her body protesting every movement. The weakness was still there, dragging at her limbs like weights.
Whoever had done this wanted to make a point, not kill her. That was why they had only weakened her temporarily with wolfsbane instead of using a lethal dose.
But why?
And more importantly, her Rose was here. In a danger zone.
