The banquet finally arrived, and Tristan and Victoria drove together to the hotel where the banquet was being held.
"What about Evelyne? Does she know the location of the banquet?" Victoria asked her fiancé.
"You don't need to worry, I've sent someone to pick her up, so everything will be fine. We may just have to wait for her at the entrance because she won't ask to enter without an invitation in my hand," he replied.
Tristan was curious about how Evelyne would look because he hadn't seen the dress she had bought. Victoria said that the dress looked very beautiful on Evelyne, but she didn't have time to take a picture of it.
When they arrived at the location, several reporters were already waiting and taking pictures of them because they were a powerful couple.
The man, Tristan, was a young CEO and billionaire, while Victoria was a famous beautiful model. Of course, they wouldn't miss the opportunity to take pictures of them together.
"Mr. Everhart, do you have high hopes for the development of this AI for your gaming company?" asked one of the reporters.
"Yes, I have high hopes, and I hope they don't disappoint me."
His voice was calm, straightforward, and very authoritative. Many people admired him. In just six years, he had successfully developed a fairly large gaming company in the city.
Moreover, the games he created attracted the attention of many people and make a lot of money.
As they were in the spotlight at the entrance, Tristan's gaze shifted to a woman who had just stepped out of the elevator.
A beautiful woman in a dark blue dress, with a swan feather hair clip on her right temple. The dress hugged her curves, making her look so elegant with her sharp gaze.
His eyes widened when he realized it was Evelyne. She looked so charming in the dress Victoria had picked out for her.
'She's still as beautiful as ever. No... Much more beautiful. Damn, what are you thinking, Tristan? Victoria is clearly right next to you, but you're looking at another woman,' he thought with a sigh.
"Oh, it's Evelyne!" Victoria pointed at Evelyne, who had just arrived, causing the reporters to immediately turn their heads in her direction.
They whispered among themselves, wondering who she was. They felt like they had seen her before.
"Who is she? She's so beautiful," one reporter commented to his colleague.
"I don't know. But it looks like she knows Ms. Victoria and Mr. Everhart. Are they friends? Or maybe..."
They began to speculate, trying to figure it out. Could there be a scandal between the three of them? However, Tristan immediately clarified that Evelyne was his secretary.
"She is Evelyne Moretti, my secretary. I don't want any scandals to arise between us, because our relationship is strictly professional," he said firmly as Evelyne stood to his left.
Even so, that did not free him from the gaze of reporters who were hungry for scandal and anything that might lie behind their relationship.
Since she had arrived, the three of them immediately entered the banquet room, where many business people and their partners had already arrived.
One by one, the businessman approached each other and began trying to establish good relationships. Perhaps there would be cooperation between their companies.
"Mr. Everhart! Welcome to the launch event I organized," said a middle aged man who was the CEO of the AI technology company hosting the banquet, Mr. Frenzy.
"Mr. Frenzy, thank you for inviting me here. I can't wait to see the results of your company's work," said Tristan, who looked a little smile, even though it was a business smile.
They shook hands, then Frenzy looked at Victoria. "This must be your beautiful fiancée. It's an honor to meet a model as beautiful as you, Ms. Sanchez."
"Good evening, Mr. Frenzy. I'm glad to meet you," said Victoria, shaking his hand.
"Then who is this woman? I've never seen her before." Now he saw Evelyne, who was standing just a step behind the couple.
She turned when he noticed her and began to introduce herself. "My name is Evelyne Moretti. I am Mr. Everhart's secretary. Nice to meet you, Mr. Frenzy."
"Oh, a secretary, I see." The middle aged man nodded and then looked back at Tristan. "You are surrounded by many beautiful women, Mr. Everhart. But that's not what we're here to talk about. The launch event will begin in 15 minutes. Enjoy the food."
The dark haired man nodded and looked at Frenzy, who was walking away to prepare everything. Victoria took two glasses of champagne and gave one to Tristan. She then turned to her fiancé's secretary.
"Evelyne, take a drink. You should enjoy what's on offer too," she said kindly.
"Ah, I don't drink. I..."
"She's a lightweight. Evelyne can't tolerate any alcohol or she'll get drunk," Tristan interrupted, sipping his champagne.
"Is that true, Evelyne?" Victoria asked worriedly.
"Y-yes, I get drunk easily. So I don't really like alcohol," she replied.
Hearing this, Victoria felt a little surprised. 'How could Tristan know that Evelyne gets drunk easily?'
But she began to dismiss her negative thoughts, thinking that maybe they had once had a party at the company and Evelyne had refused to drink alcohol because she got drunk easily. That's how he could have known.
Since there were still 15 minutes before the event started, Victoria invited Evelyne to get some mini cakes nearby.
"These chocolate cakes look delicious," she said, taking three mini cakes. "Evelyne, you try some too."
"Yes, okay." She took a cake and tasted it. It was a little sweet and in the middle there was cherry jam.
Victoria went over to Tristan and chatted with him while Evelyne watched the two of them standing so close together.
His smile and laughter were no longer for her but for Victoria. It had been a long time since she had last seen Tristan smile like that, maybe six years ago before the terrible incident happened.
'Now it's all over. I shouldn't be thinking about this anymore because he's no longer my husband but my boss,' she thought at the time.
She continued to watch them exchange laughter. Until finally, she saw Victoria intending to feed Tristan the cake she had been eating.
At first, Evelyne didn't pay much attention, but something made her realize what was happening and she immediately ran towards them.
"STOP IT!"
