Chapter 13 - It Feels Right

As Tristan said, Victoria accompanied Evelyne to find a dress she would wear to next week's banquet. Evelyne had no choice but to ask her new babysiter to look after Luke until she returned home.

"Yes, please take care of Luke. I'll make sure I'm home by eight. Yes, thank you," said Evelyne on the phone, then turned to Victoria, who was choosing dresses at an expensive boutique.

'I have to choose a dress quickly and then go home. I feel bad bothering Victoria. Especially since we don't know each other well,' she thought as she watched her.

The beautiful woman chose dresses for herself and Evelyne. She looked so enthusiastic and innocent. She wasn't arrogant just because she was a famous model.

"Evelyne, what kind of dress do you want?" she asked.

"Huh? Oh, just a normal dress is fine. I don't really like dresses that are too revealing," replied Evelyne as she walked closer.

Victoria picked up two different dresses and tried them on Evelyne. She shook her head and picked up another dress.

After trying on several dresses, Victoria finally decided on one that would definitely suit Evelyne.

"Do you like this one? This dress isn't too revealing, and the sleeves are covered. I think the color also matches your eyes perfectly. You'll look absolutely beautiful in this dress!" she said.

Seeing the dress, Evelyn was quite satisfied because she felt it was the perfect dress for her. She didn't want to look too flashy at the banquet, because her role was only as a secretary.

After seeing Evelyne's satisfaction, she chose her own dress and they paid at the cashier.

Since it was already dinner time, Victoria invited her to have dinner together, as she happened to know a good restaurant in the mall.

"There's still time, we can have dinner together, right? Let's just consider this girls' night. Come on!" She hugged Evelyne's arm and pulled her towards the fifth floor where several restaurants were located.

Actually, she was a little hesitant to accept the invitation because it was already 7:45 p.m. and she would be home in 15 minutes.

However, seeing how nice Victoria was to her and treated her like a friend, she couldn't refuse.

She took her cell phone and sent a message to the babysitter who was looking after her son.

[EVELYNE]

I'll be home a little late because something unexpected came up. Please put Luke to bed at 8 PM sharp. I'll pay extra for this. Thank you.

At the restaurant where they had dinner, Victoria told Evelyne many things about her life and truly regarded the woman as her new friend.

She talked about her daily life, her work, and sometimes about the times when she was still in school and her friends looked down on her.

"Back when I was in high school, they often looked down on me and said I would never be able to become a model! But the proof is, I can become a model who is currently being talked about by many people," she said happily.

Hearing her story, Evelyne realized something. Why Tristan could like Victoria. Victoria was truly cheerful, humble, and easy to get along with anyone.

Just like she used to be, and that was what Tristan loved about her.

"What about you, Evelyne? How was your school life? Was it fun?" She asked.

She paused for a moment, remembering her high school days filled with memories with Tristan.

Starting from their first meeting, when Tristan tried to approach her and even confessed his love right in the middle of the school field in front of everyone.

Remembering all that, a smile appeared on Evelyne's beautiful face.

Seeing her smile, Victoria immediately teased her. "Ohh, are you remembering something sweet? Could it be that you found your first love at school?"

"No, Ms. Victoria. I..."

"Just call me Vicky! All my friends call me that, and you'll be one of my new friends," she said, winking.

She nodded. "Alright, Vicky."

The two of them ended up chatting about various things while enjoying their dinner.

After finishing dinner, Evelyne said she was tired and wanted to go home.

"Okay, then I'll call a taxi for you! To be honest, I really enjoyed our time together. I hope we can be good friends even though you are my fiancé's secretary," said Victoria.

"Yes, of course."

The taxi she had ordered arrived, and Evelyne parted ways with Victoria right in front of the mall. They had talked about many things that night, and honestly, Evelyne was also happy to have found someone she could talk to besides Daniel.

Even though Daniel was her close friend and they had known each other for a long time, it still felt different sometimes when talking to male and female friends.

Seeing Evelyne leave, Victoria felt a little sad because now she was alone. But it didn't take long for Tristan to come pick her up, and they went back to the mansion.

During the trip, Victoria kept talking about everything she did with Evelyne. She sounded so happy, which made Tristan happy too.

"That's good then. I knew the two of you would get along easily. You have some things in common, and that's what makes you get along quickly," he said, rubbing Victoria's head.

"You think so? How did you know she has the same interests as me?" she asked.

He fell silent upon hearing this. Victoria still knew nothing about his past relationship with Evelyne.

"It's just my opinion. You two seem to have a lot in common, so I think you must have similar tastes too." Tristan replied somewhat stiffly, looking for a reason so that Victoria wouldn't feel suspicious.

He did intend to tell her about his past with Evelyne. But he needed the right moment to say it so that his fiancée wouldn't misunderstand their current relationship.

When they arrived at the mansion, Tristan told her to go back to her room first. He had to finish some business in his study.

"I'll be back when I'm done. You rest first," he said, kissing her forehead before walking away.

In his office, he collapsed into his chair. He was still thinking about what he had done to Evelyne that morning.

His longing for her was so strong that he had simply hugged his ex wife.

For some reason, he didn't feel regret, but he didn't want to admit that he felt relieved after doing it.

"It just felt so right."
