Roxie fell silent. What surprised her was that Avelina was never the kind to convince somebody to choose violence. In fact, when things like this happened, she was usually the one who spoke up and tried to calm Roxie down. But this was something Roxie never expected—to actually hear Avelina tell her that she should have punched the girl well.
"Ave, it's okay," Roxie spoke as she couldn't bring herself to do it again—maybe because Avelina had said it first. She knew her friend well, and for her to actually react like this meant that this particular news had gotten under her skin. Anyone else would not have been happy to hear such lies, but the fact that people actually believed it was what made it even more annoying. Avelina pulled her hands away from the blonde lady, who ran off like she had just been chased by an antelope.
