Avelina was shocked by her own words. She didn't even know how they had left her lips, but she just needed to leave now. She had to stand by her words.
The air turned deadly as the atmosphere darkened. Her heart raced as his cold eyes locked on hers.
"You are so bad at lying, Choco."
Immediately those words left his lips, her face turned to him as she tried her best to act as composed as possible.
"Why would you think I'm lying? My wife—her name is Mrs. Roxie. We've been married for five months and three days now…."
As those words left her lips, the atmosphere darkened even more. Zauriel's cold eyes dimmed at her words.
Avelina didn't know what she had just said, but that was all she could think of now she prayed she had not made things too obvious. Oh, she was really making matters worse for herself, and now she had dragged poor Roxie into this.
