Anna rolled her eyes at the message and before she could do anything, her phone rang again. It was still Warren.
Without hesitation, she picked.
"Why the hell are you calling me, Warren? What do you want?"
"I'm outside, Anna. Can we see?"
Her tone sharpened. "Why would I come out to see you? I'm married, Warren. Remember?"
He was silent for a while before responding. "Well, I know you are, which is why I want to see you."
"What for?
"To ask for your forgiveness. I know I have hurt you and I'd like…"
Anna clicked the call and it hung up. She was seething in anger.
Forgiveness? After all the pain, the betrayal? He didn't deserve even a second of her attention.
Her phone buzzed and she stared at the message as dread filled her inside.
"I'm coming in right now."
