Aidan was just leaving the area when his phone buzzed and he checked to see the name of the bodyguard he had assigned secretly to Anna flashing across his screen.
He pulled over abruptly and snatched the phone up.
"Hello?"
"Boss," Fred said quickly, "Warren Gonzalez just walked into the company. Do you want me to go in?"
Aidan clenched his jaws tightly.
Anna didn't know about Fred. Ever since the night he'd caught that pervert with her in the old apartment, Aidan had been consumed with guilt at the thought of what could've happened. That guilt turned into paranoia, and paranoia into action, and he'd hired Fred to follow her, to protect her. Because if anything happened to her again and he wasn't there to stop it, he'd never forgive himself.
He had managed to stop Kathryn and Sophie's assault on her for now but he knew it was just a matter of them before they started again, and he was patiently waiting for that time.
But now, Warren was here.
