Anna woke with a start, heart drumming as though jolted from a dream she couldn't remember. She blinked into the dark, and she sat up to hear her phone vibrating on the nightstand.
Anna picked it up to see the name 'Warren' flashing across her screen. Then her phone buzzed with a message.
"Please we need to talk."
There were three other previous messages and she scrolled up to see them.
"Can we meet?"
"I'm sorry, please forgive me."
"Please let's talk."
Anna sighed deeply and stepped out of bed. Does this have anything to do with Sophie's cheating on him?
Then Anna remembered how he had told her he called her the previous morning and she rejected his call.
She didn't remember seeing any of his calls. Out of curiosity, she opened her call log and scrolled down till she found Warren's name.
He had called her indeed. She opened the details of the call to see he had called twice but those two times got rejected.
Her brows drew together. She hadn't rejected him.
Then who did?
