The office clerk was quietly sipping his coffee. Komal was standing nearby, looking at some files. Sawan looked at her and asked in a heavy voice,
"You still haven't told me your name?"
Komal suddenly panicked, as if awakened from a deep thought. "Oh! I'm so forgetful. In the rush of work, I forgot to tell you my name. My name is Komal. And yes, remember, I'm your senior and you're my junior," she tried to hide her nervousness with a smile. Sawan simply watched her with a light, mysterious smile.
Just then, the same boy whom Sawan had beaten the night before entered the office gate. His name was Rahul. Rahul still bore the bruises, but his arrogance hadn't diminished. Behind him came another girl, whom he was scolding severely.
The girl, with her head bowed, followed Rahul to his desk. Rahul shouted,
"You can't do a single thing properly! If this continues, you'll lose your job!" The entire office was stunned.
Sawan got up from his desk. When her 7-foot figure stood in front of Rahul, Rahul's words got stuck in his throat.
"Don't scold her so much, she'll do her work. There's no need to yell in the office,"
Sawan said coldly.
Rahul looked at Sawan with wide eyes. He remembered that shadow from last night. "
You... you're interrupting again? You're a junior, behave like one!" Rahul's voice trembled.
Just then Komal came over and pushed Sawan back, saying, "
Sawan, you go. I'll talk to her." She told Rahul, "
Take your team outside and talk, don't make a scene here." Rahul muttered and left with the girl.
It was 9 p.m. Sawan had been assigned overtime, so he had stayed in the office. Komal picked up her bag and started to leave. She came over to Sawan and said, "
You can go home after you finish your work, okay? Good night."
Saavan went to the window and looked down. Rahul was standing near his car, waiting for Komal. As soon as Komal came out, Rahul greeted her with a smile. They both laughed and talked, then got in the car and disappeared into the darkness.
Saavan's fists clenched so tightly that the veins in his hands became clearly visible. The same "slanted"
look and bloody red glow had returned to his eyes. He watched them go from above, his whole body shaking with anger. He couldn't understand how Komal could be so happy with the person he looked at with hatred.
