Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: This is War

Kurai sat silently, his face pale and haunted. The weight of the looming conflict pressed down on him, making it harder to breath. "This is way." he whispered voice barely audible.

Kebe frowned, confused. "What do you mean?"

"They declared war. No doubt about it." Kurai said quietly.

"Do you really think so?"

Kurai's voice trembled. "What are we going to do? We can't win this. We're all going to die. I don't want to die yet. I want to still see you guys. I don't want to die. I don't want to die."

"STOP. RIGHT. NOW." Kebe shouted sharply, stepping forward. "What the fuck is wrong with you? Do you really think we'll just let you die like that?"

Tears welled in Kebe's eyes, but his voice was steady and fierce. "Do you think we're weak? That we'll lose so horribly? If that's how you see us...that's pretty sad."

He took a deep breath, locking eyes with Kurai. "I don't want to hear that from you again. Got it? Clear?"

Kurai nodded, swallowing hard.

"But we barely beat those guys last time, and I bet they'll come back stronger." Kurai said, voice heavy with doubt.

Kebe smiled, confident. "Then we'll come back stronger than them."

A small smile cracked on Kurai's face.

Suddenly, the earth began to shake violently.

"What now?" Kebe asked, alarm clear in his voice.

Kurai's expression darkened "They probably opened another portal."

"Don't make that face. It's okay. We've got this. You stay here and heal."

"But i need to be there too." Kurai insisted.

"No, you don't. We can handle it without you. Don't be selfish." Kebe replied firmly.

Kurai sighed. "Fine. Take care, brother."

"We will." Kebe said with a reassuring smile.

Just then, a massive rift tore open in the sky. Larger and more ominous than before. Thick fog spilled out, covering the streets in an unnatural haze.

The rift hovered above a large fountain. The water sparkled eerily under the strange light, casting twisted reflections.

The ground shook again.

From the edges of the fountain emerged strange figures. Tall, thin, with perfect round heads resembling trumpets. They began to sing, haunting and ethereal voices filling the air.

From the center of the rift descended a man.

Tall, with blond hair catching the dim light, and piercing blue eyes. He landed gracefully atop the fountain's highest point.

"You! Humans! Be grateful and worship ME, the Great Sin of Pride." he declared, voice booming with arrogance. "I am Nazrat. Disobey, and your species will face miserable extinction. By ME."

Fumiko muttered under her breath. "Who the hell does this idiot think he is?"

Kebe chuckled. "His entrance was kinda impressive, though."

Seiko's voice cut through sharply. "Don't underestimate him. He's powerful. Maybe even stronger than the twins."

Fumiko looked at Seiko skeptically. "You really think so?"

Seiko nodded gravely. "I can feel his power. WE might not stand a chance."

Kebe frowned. "Well, that's not good."

Fumiko shot him a sarcastic look. "You think that's not good? Brilliant insight."

Nazrat's voice thundered again. "No one worshipping me? That means one thing: YOU ALL GONNA DIEEE! HAHAHAH!"

Kebe shook his head. "This guy's crazy."

Seiko's tone was deadly serious. "Crazy and dangerous. We need more people."

She turned toward Jim. "Alert the whole station. Now."

"On it." Jim replied sprinting off.

Seiko squared her shoulders. Until backup arrives, this monster is our problem."
