Mrs. Rick at times felt like at night the black man stood beside her.
She usually held onto Rick for comfort during those times.
It became clear by the couple that the next month would be the month to give birth.
Rick felt so happy about the situation and Mrs. Rick felt the same joy.
Rick almost experiencing losing his wife made him feel like all the truth had to be spread out to Mrs. Rick.
The fact that he had not told Mrs. Rick about the situation of his union began to make him feel a bit of guilt.
He stood up to her one day and decided to tell he the truth.
"Babe, I have to tell you something", Rick said hesitantly.
He never felt like reporting his union to Mrs. Rick would be a good idea.
He somewhat felt worried about the understanding of how she would take his past life.
"I was once in a union", Rick then muttered silently hoping that she heard.
Mrs. Rick at that moment didn't even seem to notice. She just laid on the bed, looking up at the ceiling.
Rick couldn't help to notice that Mrs. Rick was worried about something.
She had never truly talked about anything ever since she returned from her coma.
Rick stopped talking about his situation and decided to revisit his wife and her problems.
"What's wrong", Rick asked calmly holding his wife's palms gently.
He noticed when they were dating that her palms were usually warm when relaxed and cold when worried.
At that moment, her arms were freezing.
"You wouldn't believe me but as I was knocked out it felt like I was in this alternate world", Mrs. Rick told Rick who already found that hard to believe.
"There was this man in a black hoody with red eyes. When I looked into them, it showed me your death", Mrs. Rick explained with fear.
At that moment, Rick jumped to his feet.
"My Death", he screamed arousing other patients, doctors and nurses in the hospital.
"Calm down", Mrs.Rick said patting down his back.
Rick on the other hand could not believe it. Practically, he couldn't.
He had completely forgotten about the situation of the union and had a hint of fear boil between his veins.
He struggled and held himself back from believing what he had heard.
"It must be an effect of the coma", Rick then thought as he watched Mrs. Rick turn towards the silence.
He deeply felt like something was wrong with her and thought that the experience might be true.
He was put into great shock at that moment and called in the doctors to comfort him and his wife.
After that brief chat Rick was never heard of again.
He was usually the calm, collective type but was terrified of death.
He never believed in all those mythical events but surprisingly enough he got so worried that he had to go to stores to buy more mythical books to enquire about for himself.
'It doesn't make sense. It does not add up. Where did the man come. Why is she talking about my death. In a plane. I hardly even use planes', Rick kept soliloquizing until he heard a knock on the door.
He was so deep I thought that he didn't even hear the knock until after about five times.
"Come in", was then echoed in the air as Rick stood up to unlock the door.
The sight he beheld after that was so shocking that he had to scrub his eyes to confirm it.
His wife stood before him in all strength and glory.
She was a bit slimmer than how she was when she entered the hospital but he didn't care. He even considered the change better for her attractions.
"Wow, I always hoped to see you stand again", Rick almost in tears confessed.
Mrs. Rick didn't say a word but gave out a smile that Rick waited to see again for over eight months.
The smile she made when they first married.
Mrs. Rick leaned in for a hug as they both embraced the moment.
Mrs. Rick walked in graciously, a sight that Rick hadn't seen in years.
She soon caught notice of the monumental amount of mythical books in the apartment.
She began to feel worried for him knowing that his death was not one to take lightly.
She patted him on the back a couple of times and showered him with sympathy some other times all through the night.
So much so that he didn't even notice when Mrs. Rick landed back in bed.
"Only one week till her estimated birth period", the doctor said calmly while looking at his clip board with a stethoscope wrapped around his neck.
He caught the sight of Mrs. Rick. After the glammer of seeing her the other day, he was so surprised to see her back in bed, back to the normal stomack pains for all pregnant women.
It turns out that Mrs. Rick was only pretending to be glamoured in order to hold Rick down of his stress and anxiety.
It worked though, for the whole of last night, Rick had never felt better this whole past few months.
The baby seemed to be in the right position and everyone was ready for the labour.
About two days before the labour, Rick still felt guilty about the whole union experience knowing fully well that Mrs. Rick did not hear a word.
Recognising that Mrs. Rick was still in desperate pain, he decided to hold it until after the labour before he broke the news out.
Finally, the day of the labour arrived.
The doctors got ready as the estimated birth period proved to be correct.
Rick had never experienced a woman giving birth, but his time in the union made him a man of boldness and endurance.
The baby wouldn't come out head first but there was still hope for survival due to the cater given by the doctors.
Mrs. Rick struggled in pain as Rick held her hand firmly.
Finally, the process began. Screams filled the air as it echoed of the wall.
As anticipated the legs came out first. The baby might have being premature but a few drugs and medications might have been able to get the baby into a normal state, at least the doctors hoped.
Legs turned into hands and hands into the head as instead of coming head down the baby came out leg up.
It took two - four hours but the baby was finally given birth to.
The next problem facing the family was 'the baby never cried after birth'.
