Aurora's POV
Valerie's men led us to one of the chambers of the capitol. I pulled back the hood of my cloak the moment we got in. I tried to assess the situation but to my surprise, the angry mob had quietly begun to disperse.
"They are leaving,"
"Well, Kane has that effect on people," Rod sat back on the furniture with an exhausted sigh.
"Hey, how are you feeling?"
"Honestly," I joined him on the seat. "I don't know, I can't even describe what I'm feeling. It's like —"
"A dream?" He said exactly what was on my mind.
"Yeah,"
"Do you know the good things about dreams?" He leaned closer, grabbing my wrist.
"You are the one in control. It's your world and you do with it as you seem fit,"
"You are right," I breathed. His words had somehow given me hope, calming the fright that was echoing in my mind.
"Thank you Rod. Also thank you for not freaking out when you learnt the truth about me,"
"Oh! I freaked," he burst into laughter.
