Aurora's POV
"Aurora!" Valerie's voice kept sweeping over me. My whole brain felt distorted, my mind like a blank tape. I stood to my feet, my hands over my ears, trying to block out the noise.
Just when I thought I was going to go mad from the screams tormenting my mind, I felt a scorching heat on my back. The burn made me turn, and my gaze met something indescribable.
Its eyes burned bright, huge, and filled with so much emotion.
Its entire body was on fire, its massive wings resting as it looked down at me. The terrifying part was that I was staring right at it.
Unlike the last time, now I'm standing too close.
It appeared to be studying my movements, my actions.
"What do you want from me? What did you do to me?" I questioned.
I appeared insane, talking to a bird that felt like a fragment of my imagination.
But this wasn't just any normal creature. It tilted its head when I spoke. It seemed to understand me, yet remained silent.
