Kane's POV
"Uhhh… aren't you a cute one," she spoke, but I knew it wasn't her. Her gaze dropped to Valerie, who had her pinned to the wall. A smile danced on her lips as she grabbed Valerie's arm.
"Let go of her," Rod said, but she persisted. Her grip around Aurora's neck tightened, just as Aurora's grip on her arm did.
It was a test of endurance, and judging by the veins popping on Valerie's neck and how hard her feet trembled, Aurora was winning. She seemed in control, unfazed, and gradually I could hear the bones in Valerie's hand snapping.
"Enough!" I roared, and they immediately let go of each other. I turned my gaze to Arden, who stood quietly behind us like he hadn't just run a dagger through my shoulder.
"Really?"
"You have a problem, take it up with the boss," he said. "I do as I'm told."
"You all think we are some sort of game?" she spoke. The eerie distinction was noticeable—an otherworldly voice that sent goosebumps down our spines.
