Grey wondered if Allen was blocking his access to lawyers. But why would he interfere? To protect Evelin? Out of sympathy? Or was there more to it?
Allen clearly knew details about Evelin's background—her military research, her drone expertise. Yet Grey, her own husband, remained clueless about any of it.
The project manager's words suddenly echoed in Grey's mind: "Mr. Ford, you really don't understand your wife at all." Those words carried deeper meaning now.
Once Allen departed, the others scrambled to make their exits. Deacon exchanged glances with Grace and Grey, speaking with deliberate weight, "Mr. Samson did military service for some time."
"Based on his comments tonight, Evelin served too. Perhaps they share some history."
Grace's face showed alarm. "Are you suggesting Mr. Samson and Evelin know each other? That they might be... close?"
