Grey threw those words out there to create distance between us. After what happened at the restaurant—when I'd held that spoon to Jimmy's throat—he clearly wanted to cut ties.
Plus, both Skyward Technology and his company were fighting for the Hamilton family's drone investment. We were competitors now.
By painting Skyward as unreliable and spreading lies, he was basically trying to eliminate his competition.
I watched Grey with ice-cold eyes. Three years of marriage. Three years of busting my ass for his company. And this was what I got—being called an "ordinary employee."
"Is that right?" Jimmy's voice carried zero emotion.
Grace jumped in. "Ms. Dion, I get that you're trying to help your friend make a good impression on Mr. Hamilton, but making up stories about her background? That's not gonna work."
"Making up stories? When I was developing drone tech, you were probably still playing with toy airplanes!" Selina snapped back.
