Evelin's POV
"What's the issue with that? I simply want to get the most out of this situation—it benefits both the company and our family," Grey declared.
Family? That word once held so much promise for me.
I'd married him believing we could build a real family together.
Eventually, I discovered he was incapable of giving me what I craved.
"If I hadn't rescued Jimmy today, would you still be asking me to return to the company?" I questioned him.
"You're the company's first lady—you can return whenever you choose," Grey answered.
"So I can walk into the office tomorrow and tell everyone I'm the boss's wife?" I lifted an eyebrow.
Grey hesitated before responding, "We previously agreed to keep our marriage private for now and make it public when the timing's appropriate."
"Because announcing it now would be like broadcasting to the entire company that you betrayed me, correct? Everyone at work knows Grace was your first love, but nobody's aware we're married," I stated plainly.
