Chapter 5 - Explosion.

Snow's consciousness slipped away, and his body fell to the ground, unprotected. It lay on the floor looking almost lifeless, and the cyborg men stood around it.

"We'll need to take him to the other room to start the procedure, sir," one of them said calmly, staring up at the alien.

The alien nodded, waving his hand in response, gesturing for approval.

"Fine but be quick. We have limited time to get this done and get the hell out of here before they arrive. Lift him and take him to the next room and begin the process immediately."

The men nodded in unison and bent low to pick Snow up, taking him to the next room to tear him up for black market sales.

"Be careful with the body, I wouldn't want your cyborg arms ripping him apart." He snarled.

With folded arms, the alien relaxed on the wall, staring at them with squinted eyes.

His memory drifted back to the last human they caught. It was a good one because she was female, and the female parts were more expensive than the male parts during these times.

But the cyborg men just happen to split the body in half during an argument between each other over who should begin the process of dismembering.

That single act of theirs led to him losing a whole lot of money and even led to an argument with his buyers. Due to the need for human parts, he ended up selling.

Out of anger, the cyborg men involved were destroyed and rebuilt for sale.

'Tsk! Useless.' He sighed before walking off.

The men continued carrying the body carefully to avoid making the same mistake the last set made that led to their doom.

"Be careful, Peter. You're pulling him the wrong way. We're supposed to go this way." One of them complained, trying to pull the body the way they were supposed to.

Peter, on the other hand, didn't want to admit his mistake and pulled the body the other way.

"No, it's this way, and I'm very sure of it, now quit being an as*hole and move this way," Peter argued in the opposite direction.

"You both should relax your amygdala, or you might release too much adrenaline in response to your growing anger and rip the body apart, and we all know we don't want that!" Their leader spoke, trying to sound like a voice of reason.

"Yeah, we should be careful how we react, but firstly tell Peter to move in my direction because it's the right way!" The argument continued.

"You both shouldn't seriously start this. You're arguing like humans, and we're meant to be better than them. Now pull yourselves together and move in unison."

"He always does this!" Peter grumbled, finally agreeing to move in the other guy's direction.

They were too busy grumbling and reconciling with each other when a loud explosion was heard from the end of the room.

When they turned, they noticed it had already knocked out most of the cyborg and alien men guarding the outdoor post leading to the underground subway.

Particles of concrete and mentals laid all over the ground in shards.

Then minutes later gunshots were heard, as well as plasma rifles. The remaining men at the post began firing back, refusing to allow the commotion to distort their thoughts.

There were two ways to get into this hideout. One was through the outside store, as the alien did.

The other way, through which they carried out their movement and shipment of these human parts, was through the abandoned underground subway that was constructed throughout half of the city.

Most black market individuals loved using the underground subway to bypass security above ground, and avoid being caught and jailed.

"Tsk!, they're here. Hurry up, carry the body to the next room so we can begin before they get to us, don't worry about our safety, they'll take care of it." Their leader hurried them, pushing them ahead.

"Wait, sir, I think I made a mistake," Peter murmured, raising up a detached limb.

Their leader stared between the detached limb and Snow's arm and realised that Peter had managed to do exactly what the alien was irritated about.

He had successfully ripped out Snow's right arm and was now holding it up for all to see. If not for the sudden commotion that occurred, he would probably have been dead by now.

"How did it happen?!!, I thought I told you to be careful?!." their leader yelled, his face twisted with anger.

"I'm sorry, I was startled by the explosion. I didn't know when I ripped it off."

"Don't bother about it for now, just go!!." Their leader yelled, easing his rising anger in response to the situation.

The gunshot sounds continued in the background as they moved toward the room, this time there were no arguments.

They arrived at the room and brought out all their equipment to begin the process, but it was interrupted by another explosion.

This time around, the explosion came from right outside the door.

When the smoke began clearing, five individuals stood at the room's entrance, holding scientifically improved weapons like plasma rifles, hot rods bows and lazer hand guns.

"To make this easy for all of us, just hand over the body, and we'll be on our way." A deep groggy voice spoke behind the veil of smoke that covered their vision, still hanging around.

Their leader chuckled, a silent, deep snicker that alerted everyone.

"You want to make this easier for us, and how do you intend to do that?. You just expect us to hand over the body to you like that without any payment made to us?" The chuckle continued, sending rippling chills through everyone's spine.

"You badge into our base, then come up with a stupid line like 'to make this easier for us', and expected us to grovel at your feet?. Let me inform you, we are no ordinary cyborgs like the ones you fought and defeated out there, we will crush you if you make any sudden moves." He spoke loudly, making it very clear.

"Sorry, but we're not here to fight. We'll just take the body and be on our way. There's no need to glaze yourself in front of us. We already know who we're dealing with here."

"By the way, where is your boss?. Did he run away because he knew we were coming?" the groggy voice answered, the smoke finally clearing to reveal the faces of the individuals behind the veil of smoke.

"Well, if you want the body, then you have no other option but to take it from us by force. I see no other way around it."

The leader flexed his reflexive arm, preparing his body for a fight.

"Then, I guess you leave us no choice but to fight you. As you wish." A female voice spoke with a smirk on her lips..
