After Speedy's unsavory departure,
The room falls into an uncomfortable silence.
*Whistles* "Guess they didn't know.."
Leon turns to Raven, levitating off the ground, still eyes closed.
Before anyone can break the silence, the massive screen in the room displays Superman's face: "There's been an explosion in Project Cadmus. It's on fire.."
Batman: "I've had my suspicions. This may present an oppor--" On the screen showing Superman, a smaller window opens with Zatara cutting Batman midspeech.
"Zatara to Justice league, The Sorcerer Wotan is using the amulet of Aten to blot-out the sun. Requesting full league response "
Batman turns " Superman..? "
Superman " It's a small fire, local authorities have it under control "
Batman " Then Cadmus can wait " pressing a button on the computer Batman calls all league members to rendezvous at Zatara's location.
Before they turn and walk towards the exit but not before Batman tells them to stay put.
KidFlash " What !! Why? "
Aquaman " This is a league mission " Flash cuts in " You're not trained- "
Kid-Flash " Since when !!? "
Flash " I meant you're not trained to work as member of *This* Team " points to the league members.
Aquaman " There will be other missions when you're ready.. "
" But for now.. STAY.PUT... " Batman.
Whilst they turn around and start talking Green-Arrow turns to Martian Manhunter
" Glad you didn't bring You-Know-Who?.."
" Indeed ".
As the Justice walk away they leave behind a group of angry young hotblooded teenagers after denying them what should've been their right.
Kid-Flash: "When we're ready? How are we ever supposed to be ready when they treat us like...like sidekicks?"
Aqualad: "My mentor, my King—I thought he trusted me."
Kid-Flash: "Trust? They don't even trust us with the basics!! They have an HQ in Space!!"
Robin: "I have a better question: why didn't we leave with Speedy?"
As the trio stare at each other and converse about what happened, Leon turns to Raven: "You know I told you I already regretted my decision 6 times, right?"
Raven opens an eye before closing it again, and corrects Leon: "7."
He Snickers,
Then muses softly enough so only Raven can hear: "You know, I bet 10 bucks they forgot we're also in the room."
Raven replies to Leon's question and bet with utter silence already done with the team in her mind.
Leon turns to see Robin play with the massive computer for abit and gain access to the Cadmus files before continuing their conversation between the three of them.
The sidekicks seemed to have reached a consensus, after which they talked about Project Cadmus and its location .
Leon notices the two shorter ones trying to convince the taller one, Kaldur, Aqualad. "It's always awesome and makes me giddy seeing comic-book characters come to life. Can't let loose though, gotta keep cool and handsome..." he muses in his thoughts.
After it seems that Aqualad is agreeing to their proposal, the Boy Wonder turns to the duo in the corner of the room.
"You guys in? Project Cadmus is right here in Dc. Time to show the League we can handle ourselves and prove our worth."
Aqualad: "Solve their case before they do. It would be poetic justice." In his ever soft and stoic voice.
Robin chuckles, "Hey, they're all about justice. So, are you two in?"
Kid-Flash " Come on, You two let's show the old-timers we have what it takes to get their respect "
Raven opens her eyes and lands softly on the floor before turning to see Leon's decision as she joined ultimately for him so the choice would rest upon him as well.
She notices his smiling face and sharp eyes that seem to not look at the three before them, No, she's seen that look before
He's deep in thought.The same look he has often staring at the stars back home where he seems to shoulder burdens heavier than he should. Then he gains clarity and grins " Don't slow us down.."
