Desmond, in his newly monstrous form, towers over the heroes and lets out a
gut-wrenching roar.
Leon exasperated: "Oh, come on!! Another Hulk wannabe?!"
Desmond charges, shoving the rest of the Genomorphs in his way as he rushes toward them. Superboy roars as well before getting tackled by the monster into the ceiling, puncturing it and leaving a monster-sized gap.
Robin: "Okay... that's one way to bust through the building."
Kid-Flash: "Think the lab coat planned it?"
Aqualad: "I don't think he can plan anything... anymore."
They zip through the hole with a grappling line.
Leon and Raven are left standing below
Exchanging glances with each other, Leon Shrugs then performs a Curtsey bow facing Raven.
Leon: "After you, mon chéri," he says with a wink.
Raven just scoffs and flies up, pulling Leon behind her.
After the trio reach the upper floors, they see the sight of Superboy getting thrashed around like a rug by Desmond.
Before throwing him towards Aqualad, Robin steps back with a flip while Kid-Flash circles the monster, giving blow after blow with no visible damage.
Robin throws his trusty batarangs, which Desmond just swats away before a beeping noise comes from his palm,
where he notices something bat-shaped stuck. Trying to swat it away again, Desmond flails his hand around before it explodes right in his face.
Leon and Raven finally emerge from the hole to see Superboy getting pinned by Desmond to a huge pillar, which he then breaks by pounding on it in an effort to get out of the monster's grasp.
Aqualad manipulates water coming from his tattoos, whipping it around Desmond's large hand to stop the onslaught on Superboy.
Kid-Flash uses a nearby fire extinguisher, firing it at Desmond's face, making him let go. Robin throws a line over Desmond's huge neck, trying to strangle him with the help of Aqualad, which fails miserably as the giant just pulls on the rope and throws them to the side.
Leon jumps in and catches the two mid-air before landing softly.
Robin: "Thanks..." panting.
Aqualad: "I appreciate your help " before he charges into the fray once again with Superboy. As they can both be seen grabbing each arm of the giant, trying to keep him from throwing them around.
Taking advantage of the giant's immobility, Raven launches the giant over pillar after pillar, smashing them to pieces before she starts panting as well.
As Desmond gets up and unleashes a roar, Leon sneaks in behind him before landing a ki blast point-blank at the back of his head. Following up with the attack, Leon throws jab after jab when Kid-Flash runs up to the giant and knocks him off his feet.
Raven keeps him down using her shadows, allowing Leon to land an uppercut on the giant's chin, sending him flying upwards before Superboy and Aqualad jump straight and land a double punch, breaking another pillar.
Robin, seeing Desmond get back up again within seconds, wracks his brain before a fuse lights up.
Robin: "Everybody!! The pillars!"
As everyone gazes at the broken pillars, understanding dawns upon them as they start moving. Superboy tackles one pillar while Aqualad and Leon take care of the remaining two.
Leon: "Raven!! Drag him towards the center!!"
Nodding, Raven utters her chant, and with the help of Kid-Flash and Robin, drags Desmond towards the center of the hall.
Raven: "I ca—can't hold him any longer! Hurry!!"
Aqualad and Leon: "Robin... now!!!"
*BOOOOOM!* The remaining pillar, which had a batarang stuck on it, explodes, breaking the ceiling's foundation and causing it all to crumble and fall down.
Leon rushes towards Raven as she loosens her grip over the giant and flops down on the floor on her knees.
As everybody takes cover, the ceiling finally collapses, making the entire building fall over them.
After a while, when the dust and rubble stop falling, a hand punches out of the debris before a broken concrete wall is tossed aside, revealing the protégés and our heroes all together, still alive.
Aqualad, panting: "Haa... haa... we... we did it."
Robin, huffing: "Was... there ever any doubt?" as he fist-bumps KF.
Leon: "Are you alright, Rae?"
Raven,is in a stupor as she's in Leon's arms in a hug, flinches before she gains her composure and nods.
Raven: "I'm alright."
Kid-Flash: " Groans* Enough PDA Let's G.O.H( Get Outta here ) "
Raven Nods before standing up.
As she stands, the damage to her outfit becomes evident—her cloak torn, a slit running up one leg.Leon removes his trench coat and rests it over her shoulders.
Leon: "Ahem. Your cloak's in tatters. Wear this for now."
Raven blushes faintly and nods, realizing how often he's been making her do that lately.
As the group recollects themselves, they notice Superboy in front, staring at the moon.
Kid-Flash: "See, Supes? We promised ya, didn't we? That's the moon! We're outside, and you're free."
Superboy, while marveling at the moon's beauty: "Free?"
As he continues staring, he notices a figure darting through the air, coming from what looks to be the moon's direction—a figure with a cape in red and blue.
Kid-Flash: "Oh, and Superman... do we keep our promises or what..."
The figure lands heavily before them. The protégés step forward to meet him. But from the look on Superman's face—it's clear he's not happy.
