Leon watches in sheer stupor as his left hand glows with a silver gleam.
"Whaa.. How?" He looks back in Superboy's direction to see the boy unconscious and sprawled on the floor while everyone else stares at his glowing hand.
Robin: "C.O.O.L. That was pretty whelming."
Leon: "Did you have to spell it out?" Giving a deadpan stare. "C.H.I.L.L." Says the Boy Wonder with his hands raised in mock surrender.
Thinking it best to ignore the teen, Leon concentrates on the flow of Kí in his hand.
Leon: "This is amazing. I've used Kí to strengthen myself before, but... this is like Iron Fist level," as he continues checking out his glowing hand before it slowly fades away and stops glowing.
Raven: "Iron... what?"
Leon: "Nothing... Anyway, how's Superboy?"
Aqualad: "He's breathing. We'll have to wait--" before he can complete that sentence, Superboy wakes up in a stupor of his own, shaking his head before continuing to glare at Leon.
Pulling Raven closer into a hug, Leon takes his sword out. "You try to lay a hand on her again, I'll shove my sword where the sun don't shine."
The boy clad in white visibly flinches at that statement, clearly still shaken from the last blow.
While Raven's eartips go red at Leon's defensiveness of her and the close proximity.
Aqualad: "We are not here to fight you, Superboy; we are trying to help, so let us, please."
Superboy's eyes widen before he stares down, drowning in thoughts, before he looks back up and nods.
Leon: "Good, cuz I don't like beating up 16-week-old babies. Raven, can you teleport us outside?"
Raven: "Yes, gather close--"
Leon: "Wait!" Leon raises a hand to stop everyone.
"We can either leave quietly and contact the League, get chewed out while they take over our mission, or...
We find out who's in charge of this sick operation and shut it down for good. What do you say?"
The rest go silent in thought before Raven says, "I'm in."
Aqualad: "Me as well," while the rest nod with firm gazes.
Just then, the large door opens, through which multiple Genomorphs come out with Guardian and a man seemingly a scientist if his gown says anything about it.
Robin: "Are you the one in charge of this freakshow?"
Dr. Desmond: "My name is Dr. Desmond, and what do you mean by 'freakshow'? This is science! We're creating gods here, literal gods!"
Kid-Flash: "Yep, another mad scientist to the list..."
Desmond: "Project Kr, attack and subdue them!" To which the rest just stare at Superboy, who doesn't move an inch. "It seems you've been compromised... Very well, it seems we'll have to initiate plan B... Release all the Genomorphs," he says while tapping at his wrist.
Guardian moves first, ordering the Genomorphs, like simians, to attack, while the grotesque elephant-Gorilla hybrid Genomorphs storm into the room.
The battle ensues. Kid-Flash uses his superspeed to throw punches, knocking out the simians. Robin throws a bomb which unleashes yellow, knock-out gas, felling the rest, while Aqualad's tattoos glow, releasing water which he then manipulates to form the shape of small, scythe-like swords.
Raven chants her iconic spell to throw one of the hybrids at the rest.
Superboy charges in, jumping straight up and punching them in the head, while Leon tries covering his hand in Ki again to simulate the attack from before, but fails.
Not wanting to waste time, he instead resorts to throwing Ki bombs at the masses, causing small explosions wherever he went.
The Guardian moves into the fray and attacks Superboy, catching him from behind, which he easily counters by jumping up high and hitting the ceiling, with the Guardian taking the full brunt of the blow, knocking him down once again.
Robin showcases his incredible agility and acrobatic skill, maneuvering between the giants' heads, using their bodies to climb, then shocking them with electric currents, knocking them down one by one.
As the proteges seem to be winning, the humanoid Genomorph comes back with a whole army of Genomorphs.
Kid-Flash: "Oh, you've gotta be kidding me, Rob!! Any great ideas?"
Robin: "Hit harder!"
Aqualad: "Perhaps we should've called the League!!"
Desmond "Attack!!" Before he's hit with the rubble laying around by the very Humanoid Genomorph he ordered.
"No more shall we siblings suffer under your rule, Desmond," says The Humanoid Genomorph into everyone's mind. Then all the Genomorphs in the area stop.
The humanoid Genomorph raises a hand signalling the rest to stop Before it turns to Superboy,
"Perhaps, for the sake of all Genomorphs, our brother should make up his own mind."
Superboy's eyes widen as information gets loaded into his mind before he stares at the Talking Genomorph, "It was you..."
"Yes, brother, it was I who set the fire and lured your new friends down into Cadmus," says The Humanoid.
Superboy, "And guided them towards me... Why?"
"Because you are our hope, brother, the Genomorph hero. You will place a trail for all our brothers, showing us the way to freedom."
As the Genomorph's horns turn red again, Guardian falls down on his own, holding his head before gaining a foothold, then getting up. "Ughh... it feels like fog... getting... lifted."
Aqualad, "Guardian!"
Guardian, hardening his gaze, "Go, I'll handle Desmond!"
"I think not!" Desmond, holding a test-tube with glowing liquid, "Project Blockbuster Will give me the power to restore order to Cadmus," he says, downing the liquid in the test tube before grunting in pain and crouching down on the floor.
Everyone backs away as Desmond's body starts to change colour and size, growing bigger until his clothes start ripping.
His skin visibly tears away like a mask, revealing the dark flesh beneath.
The Monster turned scientist unleashes a deafening roar, towering over everyone, covered in ripped human skin, Looking menacingly at the exhausted heroes.
