Chapter 6 - Walk In The Academy

***

Knock. Knock.

"Ungh." Azariah shifted on the bed, as he woke up to knocks on his door.

'A guy can't sleep for some hours man?'

He knew he wasn't supposed to sleep right now as the orientation day was still going but…

'Urgh, whatever.'

"Coming." He called half-heartedly as he stood up from the bed and walked to the door.

But as he opened the door, he was surprised to see the person visiting him.

It was Alyssa.

She was still dressed perfectly in her academy clothes but she had added a few accessories on top as well.

It gave him enough of an idea as to why she was here.

He was surprised that she hadn't rested in the time from the ceremony to now.

It had already been like 4 hours since he was asleep.

Anyways.

"Yes?"

"I want to go outside to take a tour of the academy," She replied, looking straight in his eyes.

He knew from the game that Alyssa didn't shy away to express what she wanted.

Though she often had problems putting her words through in the right way, making her come off as cold and bossy often times.

"Oh, alright. Can I have a minute?" He put up a finger.

Alyssa—though he knew that she hated waiting—nodded and turned around to go back.

"I'll be there at the door in just a second."

And then he quickly closed the door.

In his mind, he was still surprised that she came to accept her role so soon.

Just in the morning, she was having problems even communicating with him.

It was even more intriguing that she wanted to roam the academy.

From the game, he knew Alyssa wasn't much of a explorer or adventurous person.

Well, he'd find out soon enough.

Rushing to his closet, he quickly found a fresh pair of uniform to wear and within minutes, he was ready.

As expected, the moment the two stepped outside, they were once again subjected to a million stares by everyone passing by.

It made him wonder if it was the same for other heirs or just Alyssa because of him.

'Maybe the stares, but definitely the glares.'

But why where they glaring at Alyssa too?

Weren't they staring at her with awe and lust hours ago?

It surprised him to see that she was getting glared at by the Div 1's as well.

'Glad to see we are at least similar in something.'

He was happy to see that both of them weren't concerned about them.

It would be a pain if she started to argue with them and he had to clear all the drama.

Fortunately, Alyssa was maybe the most mature character he had drafted for the first year.

It was no wonder that she was outsmarting the whole cast as a villain later on.

As they walked through the streets, he found her observing the students and areas nearby.

It finally clicked into his mind why she had wanted to go outside.

As the top ranked student, Alyssa was given a guaranteed spot in the academy council.

The academy council was the strongest student authority in the whole academy, comprising of 25-50 people.

It depended on the Council President on how many people he wanted to recruit.

There was always a guaranteed seat for the top ranked student of every year. Another reason why there was so much competition in the entrance tests.

Alyssa—though always trying to do the bare minimum possible—took the duties given to her very seriously.

It was probably why she was familiarizing herself with the academy even though it pained her to do so.

'What a diligent student.'

Maybe at one point in life, he was also like that. When he was stuck in his apartment, surviving on bread and jam.

As the two walked, Azariah saw second years and third years as well.

Every student wore an armband on their right arm with bars that indicated their year.

But what made them more special were the badges on some of their coats, indicating their societies.

Under the Academy Council, there were multiple other societies that operated inside the academy.

Some that were directly associated with the council and some that were not.

They were probably charged for maintaining discipline inside the academy.

Especially since for the orientation day, parents and children were allowed inside the academy as well.

The fact that Alyssa and the other main cast's families didn't attend was an other matter. They never did.

It would lower their importance and fear. They were known to only appear in front of the media or public very rarely.

"Spooch!"

The sudden voice made the two look behind at what had happened.

And the moment he saw the sight, Azariah felt a headache creeping up in his head.

Just a meter away from them, two division 1 students stood with a young boy, no older than 6, standing just beside him.

In the little boy's hand was a crushed ice cream cone, with the top cream completely whipped on the student's coat.

The student stared at his coat in horror at what just happened and almost instantly, Azariah could see the mother fearing what was about to happen.

From their looks, they seemed to be normal civilian parents, with the boy having most likely tripped while walking.

The next moment, the horror on the student's face morphed into anger as he stormed at the mother.

"YOU! DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOUR SON HAS DONE!? HE HAS SPOILED MY UNIFORM!!" He stepped toward her.

The mother, not daring to fight back against him, tried to withdraw with her son, who was now crying.

"I-I-I'm so sorry!" She tried to apologize.

But the boy was having none of it.

Immediately, the shouts caused a commotion, attracting everyone to what was happening.

From afar, Azariah saw the second years and third years take notice as well.

Unfortunately, it was too late. They would not be able to come in time for what the boy was going to do next.

'Sigh, I didn't make this game for canon even-'

Suddenly, a voice from beside woke him up.

"Save her."

His eyes widened in horror as he looked at Alyssa.

"Are you being seri-"

"Yes, save her. I'm telling you to do so." She stared at him with her cold, golden eyes.

He knew there was no other choice.

Shouldn't she be the one doing so to increase her reputation as a future academy council member!?

'Fuck my life, I haven't even cast a single magic sequence in this world yet.'

What was he going to do?

There was no time to think as the person raised his hand.

'Shit.'

Without thinking about it, Azariah just felt his body move forward.

The next moment, he found himself catching the boy's hand that came down upon the woman.

A sharp pain went down his arm and shoulder, making him wince.

'Why the fuck am I so weak!?'

Unfortunately, it was only going to get worse for him now. And he knew it.

The boy's face went red as he saw Azariah come in between them, embarrassing him further.

"You disgusting Div 2, who do you think you are!?" He raged, pulling his hand out of Azariah's grasp.

The following moment saw the boy extend his hand, activating his terminal.

A holographic circle appeared in front of his hand, as he manifested a magic sequence.

'Shit, I'm done for.'

If that spell hit him direct on, he would be hospitalized for 3 days minimum.

Suddenly, Azariah's body moved on its own without a single thought, extending his hand forward.

A crimson pinkish aura emitted from his left hand, eliciting a warping sound.

Whoosh!

Within the next second, just as the boy was about to cast his spell, a glass shattering voice was heard.

Tink! Tank!

His magic sequence completely broke down into crimson pixels before vanishing in the air, completely nullifying his spell.

The boy—who was left clueless at what happened just like everyone else around—was then pulled down by the second year members a second later.

But within all that happened, everyone'swidened eyes were now on Azariah at what just happened.

And the man himself stared in completely cluelessness at what the fuck had just went down.

'What the hell?'

In his whole time of creating this game, he had never seen or even made a power remotely close to nullifying spells outright in a second.
