They hadn't even gotten back into the spot on the river where they came in from and then, Hank stopped everyone. Eyes on, something just past a bend. Suddenly a massive creature raised its head and everyone saw what Hank noticed.
It was best described as a massive rabbit, except for its head, it was over sized, had smaller ears, and most importantly a much larger maw, with sharp teeth. This was a carnivore. The creature soon after brought it head down, and Hank whispered, "I think we need to let this one be. Hopefully it will just run away after it's done drinking."
"That's definitely not something we are ready for, so we may have to make a run for it if it sees us," said Tom.
"I agree," said Joe, "I would suggest Sir Kurt should act as a distraction if necessary."
"What, why me?" said Kurt.
"Well is it not true you can simply jump out of this place?"
"I guess so," said Kurt. Kurt could realistically use his water boots to jump over the tree, he could have gotten out of the place by now if he was alone.
"So you distract it, we get out to the border, forget the plan about where exactly, and once you lure it away you do the same, and hope it won't follow us past the border."
"But that's only if it sees us, let hope that doesn't happen," said Hank. "We wait, try to stay quiet and hide, if hell breaks loose, hell breaks loose."
"I suggest you Joe take this ram, and ride it out at least if that happens, you'll slow us down, really we should just trust each other we will somehow get to the border, and worry about getting ourselves there," said Tom handing the leash to Joe, and just then the ram made a loud sound. Crap.
The horror rabbit had heard the ram and made a jump towards them, they immediately realize it was worse than they though, it seemed the forest was under the rabbit's bidding because not only was it going right towards them it seems the tree would move away from where it would land, like it was just grass or something similar. Once he landed it locked eyes with Kurt, they started to glow red. What had he done? And before he knew it a large foot was heading straight towards him.
"Run!" yelled Joe. But it was too late. Kurt barely put up his arms to block the kick, but even then it sent him flying away across the stream. Everyone else started to scramble toward the border.
Joe had gotten on the ram, Sara somehow stole the other one managing to hold on using her tentacles. This was essentially the plan they had just discussed but Kurt could see, while he was in the air the rabbit was in some fury and it was directed at him it jumped at him.
Kurt had managed to get some footing on the tree he was hurled to, and found some sort of courage of stupidity and sprung himself toward the rabbit. He created the largest water fist he ever made, and tried to get a good hit in. What was he even thinking the thing was massive? He somehow got a swipe in, but the creature had been able to put a swipe in as well, throwing him to the side. He was getting closer to the center and trees were moving faster, clearing the way for the rabbit, one abruptly moved towards Kurt, and Kurt smacked into it. Damn that hurt.
The rabbit gave a horrid screech and wasn't letting up. Somehow their battle ended up way too intense, it was like it was purposefully trying to stop Lirt from getting to the border. The latest strike sent him flying in the direction of one the streams, rolling to his feet Kurt knew the rabbit was coming right at him again. Instinctively he absorbed the waters of the stream into the large fist he had ever tried, it formed as a huge extension of an arm, turning around to face the rabbit Kirt swung as hard as he could and hitting the rabbit knocking aside.
It wasn't enough, Kurt was being fueled by rage and a deep desire to stay alive, find a rage. A rage that some started to manifest in his mana, he will himself. Stronger, I have to be stronger. He dashed at the rabbit forming large gauntlets on his hand with water. Trying to go on the offensive, but the rabbit had managed to avoid the attack and come back with a swift kick to Kurt's side, sending closer to the center of the forest. Kurt had managed to create a water shield just in time to stop all of his ribs from breaking.
This is starting to get ridiculous, something has to change, pulling more of the mana out of his body, it was somehow still coming. Strong I have go as hard as I can. Just a little bit more, if I can turn the tide maybe I just have a chance.
They continued making blows, but Kurt was being pushed toward the center of the forest more and more, he couldn't escape, if he tried to jump far away the rabbit simply followed. And it was starting to become much more troublesome with the trees starting to move around faster and more intensely, it wanted to help that they seemed to treat the rabbit as a friend.
Kurt was bleeding in multiple places, busied everywhere. His head stung, and all of his muscles ached but there was still more in him. Stronger, stronger. The wave of mana seemed to start to overwhelm his sensation, strength strength.
But, he was still being beaten back, when suddenly a calmness and clarity overcame his mind, like a huge god had been lifted, he finally had something he could think of, two things after. He'd been wrong the whole time, he didn't need the water to become stronger, it needed to become sharper.
