Chapter 10 - Orientation

"Back off, ice bitch. You've messed with him enough in school, grow out of that phase already." Brittany growled, protecting Jin from Angela.

"Heh, calm down, I'm not here to mess with him, not yet at least." She winked at Jin.

One thing Jin liked about this world was that even though Women's and Men's personalities and actions were reversed to some degree, in his eyes, they, women, still had a feminine charm that made him attracted to them.

Also, he simply loved muscle mommies, so this world was practically heaven for him.

"What is wrong with you? You've been picking on him since our childhood? Grow up."

"Or what?" Angela stepped forward, towering over Brittany. Okay, she wasn't that tall, but she was taller than Brittany by like 3 inches or something around that.

"Playing bodyguard to a little bitch like him doesn't make you cool, Britt. I know you only want to get in his pants."

"Oooo!" The other girls laughed at Angela's comment, holding their balled hands to their mouths.

"I-I don't want to get in his pants! You're the embarrassing one, harassing Jin when he has no way to fight back. You're taking advantage of your abilities."

Angela scoffed. "Why shouldn't I? We're biologically superior to those twigs. Even the weakest girl is stronger than the strongest guy. They're literally easy pickings. Besides, look at his face, he's so cute that I just want to freeze it off!"

Icicles materialized from thin air, slicing toward Jin's face—but Brittany stopped them midair with her telekinesis.

"Now you've crossed the line!" Brittany stepped forward, the anger inside her rising. She was two years older, meaning she was much more expierenced than Angela.

"I'm going to make you regret your actions."

Angela's fists turned to ice. "I'd like to see you try."

"Or, we could just get a move on." Jin chimmed in. "No need to get all worked up over this."

"B-But Jin! She-"

"Doesn't matter, Brittany, let's just go. Fighting her wont do you any good." Jin started walking up to the third floor, and Brittany trailed behind him.

"I'll see you around, Princess." Angela waved and blew Jin a kiss, even though he wasn't looking at her. Chuckling, she went back to talking to her friends.

On the third floor, Jin scanned the key card to his door and entered his room. Brittany followed, closing the door behind her.

She sat on the bed, a bit annoyed by their encounter with Angela and a bit upset that Jin got in the way of her rearranging Angela's jaw.

"Why did you stop me?" She asked

"Because you would have beaten the shit out of her! Are you crazy, Brittany?"

"Uhh, yes. I thought you knew this already."

Jin sat down on the bed next to her after putting his things down. "Yeah, I knew that already, but you should be glad I stopped you. As annoying as Angela is, she's still an initiate, and you're an operative. If it's found out that you beat her up..."

"Yeah, yeah, I could face punishments or even get my license revoked. Thanks."

"No problem. Someone has to watch your back." He hugged her, and she held his arms.

"I'm so glad you're becoming a guardian."

"I'm not."

"Who cares what you think? You're a boring person. You won't regret this one bit!"

"Kind of had no choice but okay," Jin said that part under his breath. Brittany didn't know he was being blackmailed...sort of. More like greymailed.

The two of them stayed like that for a bit, eventually lying down on the bed where Jin lay on Brittany's chest. Just like how a woman lying on a man's chest in Jin's old world was normal, a man lying on a woman's chest was normal in this world.

Jin helped himself to her big boobs and even wrapped his hand around one. Of course, Brittany saw no issue with this and let him do it.

Eventually, they ended up falling asleep for around thirty minutes until an alarm woke them both up, and someone started speaking on the intercom.

"Greeting students, this is your principal, Mrs Horton, speaking. All initiates, please make your way to the gymnasium for the orientation. You have ten minutes." The intercom shut off.

"Guess it's time for me to go. Good luck." Brittany and Jin hugged, and they said goodbye to each other with a kiss on the cheek

"I'll see you around, Britt. Take it easy on your missions. I don't wanna see you coming home with a black eye and broken arm."

She laughed, punching his arm playfully. "Haha, who are you, my husband?"

Jin responded in kind, rubbing his arm from the punch. "Who knows, maybe one day."

Without waiting to see her reaction, Jin got up and made his way to the gym, following the crowd since he had forgotten where it was, even though Brittany had just shown him the place when she was giving him a tour.

Brittany was left blushing on the bed, her entire life flashing before her eyes in a good way, already thinking about how many children she and Jin would have.

"Can I name more than one son Jin Jr?" She asked herself.

---

"Wow, there are a lot of people here." The gym was massive. So massive that Jin thought it was a stadium. It could easily hold hundreds of thousands of people and still have a lot of space left.

There weren't hundreds of thousands of initiates, but there were at the bare minimum over a thousand initiates here.

A lot of people knew each other from school or were childhood friends. Others kept to themselves in corners or started making new friends.

Jin usually kept to himself at school, rarely making friends. That was before his memories returned, yet even after, he stayed the same—uninterested in new connections unless he truly wanted them.

"1210." A guy said, walking next to Jin.

"What?"

"You said that there were a lot of people here, and I said 1210."

"Ahh. There are 1,210 initiates." Jin understood the guy.

He was skinny and pretty short. The average height for a man in this world was 5'5, so Jin was on the very tall side, standing at 6 feet. Surprisingly, women loved tall guys in this world. They still preferred short ones, though.

The guy had messy brown hair, round glasses, and freckles. Classic nerd look.

"Nope, there are only 1,200 initiates. The other 10 are the staff members who are currently present."

'How the fuck did you even know this? No, why the fuck do you know this?'

"That's cool, I guess. You must be really smart." Jin truly didn't care to talk to the guy, but since he was here, he didn't mind making conversation.

"Haha, that's what I wanted you to believe." The guy looked down at his feet and sighed. "In truth, I saw a piece of paper that said the number of initiates who passed the entrance exams. I simply counted the staff members."

'Fucking weirdass.'

"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE! QUIET DOWN!" Mrs Horton shouted, causing the entire gym to go quiet.

"MEN ON ONE SIDE, WOMEN ON THE OTHER! GET INTO ROWS OF TEN!"

Everyone hurried to follow the principal's orders. As a retired Aegis Corps member, she had joined the Institute after stepping down from duty. Having spent years as a leader, she was well accustomed to giving commands.

"Good morning, everyone, and congratulations on passing your entrance exams. I'm sure some of you are extremely excited to be here, while others may not be. But make no mistake, you are here to become the next generation of Vanguards and Guardians, and you will be worked to the bone!"

Gulps rippled through the air as Mrs Horton's dominance struck fear into everyone's soul.

"You all will be tested constantly, pushed to your limits every day, and your desire to quit will rise every day. Unfortunately for you, quitting at this point isn't an option since you'll face punishment. But fear not, I'll make sure that you want to quit every single day."

"Did she mean to say that?" A girl whispered into the crowd.

"Yes, I did mean to say that." Mrs Horton responded, looking directly at the girl who spoke.

"At this institute, you will learn how to properly use your abilities, evolve them, use them in ways you never even thought of, and be trained to be the best vanguards and guardians you can ever be. Every week, you will be given a random test at random that randomly challenges you in some random category."

'She said random a bunch of times.'

"As a member of the Aegis Corps, you need to be prepared for anything and always be on your toes, as anything can happen to a vanguard or guardian at any time."

'I heard that being in the Aegis Corps is worse than being in the military in terms of the training.'

"Now. Are there any questions?"

Tons of students raised their hands.

"Great, no questions. Alright, begin."

The floor opened, dropping every initiative into what looked to be a bottomless pit.

'I fucking knew it.'
