Chapter 36 - The Z Sword:

The endless expanse of the Supreme Kai's world stretched like a canvas of eternal dawn. The ground glimmered faintly gold under the soft radiance of Sun, and the air itself felt thick with energy. Razor's boots touched the ground first as the four Saiyans — Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Razor — arrived.

"This place…" Goku murmured, eyes wide with excitement. "The energy here feels… unreal."

Vegeta crossed his arms, smirking faintly. "Tch. So this is where the gods reside. Not very impressive."

Gohan smiled nervously at their surroundings while Razor remained silent.

Shin appeared beside them, his face calm but stern. "Welcome to the planet of the Supreme Kai. Here, you will train for the coming battle. Duragon and his generals will arrive in six months. Every moment counts."

Goku turned, grinning ear to ear. "Six months, huh? That's plenty of time!"

Razor scoffed. "Not for you, maybe. You're still far behind the level of monsters we'll face."

Vegeta's brow twitched, his pride stung. "Care to test that claim, Saiyan?"

Razor didn't even glance at him. "You're not worth my time right now, Prince."

Goku raised his hands quickly. "Hey, hey, no fighting yet! We're supposed to train, not kill each other!"

Shin cleared his throat. "You can spar as much as you want. Injuries won't be an issue — Kibito can heal any damage instantly."

Kibito nodded. "Indeed. But don't make my job harder than necessary."

Ignoring the half-joke, the Saiyans split into groups. Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan immediately began sparring, their roars echoing across the divine plains. Each clash made the air vibrate, the ground tremble — even in base forms, their battle was ferocious.

Meanwhile, Razor stood a distance away, arms crossed, gaze distant. His aura was faint, calm, almost asleep — but the raw power under his skin was like a storm waiting for permission to break.

Shin floated closer, observing him curiously. "You're not joining them?"

Razor didn't turn. "It won't help me."

Shin tilted his head. "And why is that?"

"Because they are far weaker than me." Razor replied flatly.

The Kai's expression softened — this warrior, though rough and unrefined, spoke with the kind of honesty that came from experience, not arrogance. Still, Shin smiled slightly. "If that's how you feel, perhaps you'd prefer a different challenge."

Razor looked at him skeptically. "What kind of challenge?"

"The Z Sword," Shin said, his voice carrying weight. "A legendary blade embedded in stone. It is said that whoever draws it shall gain power unmatched — that even the gods would fear."

Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan immediately stopped their sparring, their interest piqued.

"A sword that can make someone invincible?" Goku said, eyes gleaming. "That sounds awesome!"

Vegeta huffed. "Probably another myth. But I'd like to see it myself."

Razor frowned. "A sword doesn't interest me."

But Shin merely smiled knowingly. "Perhaps not you… but maybe one of them."

Soon, the group arrived at a wide, open clearing where a massive stone stood surrounded by an aura of divine light. Stuck in it — glinting faintly silver — was the Z Sword. The weapon's presence alone was overwhelming, and the closer they got, the heavier the air became.

Gohan stared. "That's incredible… but I can't feel anything special. Maybe after pulling it out something might happen."

Kibito crossed his arms. "Hmph. Don't waste your breath. No one has ever pulled it out — not even Supreme Kais of past."

That single remark was all Gohan needed. "Then I'll try!"

Goku chuckled, patting his son's shoulder. "Go for it, Gohan."

The young Saiyan stepped forward, gripping the hilt tightly. His arms trembled as he pulled with all his strength. The sword refused to budge.

Kibito smirked. "I told you, mortal."

But Gohan wasn't done. He exhaled slowly, golden energy flaring around him as his hair turned gold — Super Saiyan. With a sharp cry, he pulled again — and with a swift motion, the Z Sword came free.

Goku's smile widened. "He did it! He actually did it!"

Even Shin was stunned. "Unbelievable… no one has ever achieved that."

Vegeta scowled, arms folded but clearly impressed. "So the boy's not completely useless after he stopped training."

Razor's eyes narrowed slightly, watching Gohan swing the sword experimentally. "Hmph. So that's the blade of legends?"

Shin nodded proudly. "Yes. The weapon said to make its wielder unbeatable."

Goku leaned forward eagerly. "So, Gohan, how's it feel?"

Gohan swung the sword a few times and frowned. "Honestly? Heavy. And… kinda normal."

Shin blinked. "Strange. The power should awaken when tested."

To verify, he created a shining cube of Katchin, the strongest metal in the universe, and handed it to Goku. "Throw this."

Goku tossed it lightly into the air. "Alright, Gohan! Give it your best shot!"

Gohan swung the Z Sword with all his might — and the instant it struck the cube, the blade snapped in half.

Everyone froze.

Kibito's mouth hung open. "You… you broke it! The divine sword is destroyed!"

Before anyone could react further, a brilliant light burst from the broken halves — and an elderly figure emerged, stretching his limbs lazily.

"Finally! A Seventy Five Million years sealed away in that cramped thing! Hmph! Took you long enough to break it!"

Everyone stared in shock.

"Who are you?" Gohan asked.

"I'm the Supreme Kai from 15 generations ago," the elderly man replied, brushing off his robes. "And you all owe me for the stiff back I've got after millions of years in that blasted sword."

Goku scratched his head. "So, uh, you're not mad about the sword?"

Old Kai glared. "Mad? You think I enjoyed being trapped in there?"

Razor raised an eyebrow. "So the sword was just a prison for some old man?"

Old Kai shot him a look. "Careful, boy. I may be old, but I can bring out the hidden potential in anyone — even you."

That caught everyone's attention.

"Wait," Goku said. "You mean… you can make people stronger?"

The old Kai smirked. "Stronger than they ever dreamed. Though it takes… time. A lot of time."

And so, after much convincing and explanation, Old Kai revealed he could perform a ritual to unleash someone's latent power.

He decides to bring Gohan's potential out for proving himself and also to reward Gohan for freeing him.

The ritual began — slow, tedious, and bizarre — lasting well over an entire day. Razor watched from afar, uninterested but faintly curious. The energy swirling around Gohan began to climb higher and higher until finally, it burst forth like a dam.

When the ritual ended, Gohan stood, his aura calm yet terrifyingly dense. His true power had been awakened.

Goku's face lit up with pride. Vegeta clenched his fists, quietly vowing to surpass it. And Razor… merely smirked, muttering under his breath,

"Interesting. Maybe this fight won't be so boring after all."
