Chapter 42 - The Flow of Battle:

The battlefield was chaos. The earth had been gouged out by countless blasts, the skies burned gold and crimson from the constant clash.Gohan and Razor stood side by side, both breathing heavily, their auras flaring. Across from them, Duragon calmly rested his massive greatsword against his shoulder, his eyes glowing faintly golden.

"Every time I get close," Razor growled, clenching his fists, "it's like my body hits a wall. My attacks just… crawl."

Gohan's brow furrowed. "I noticed too. My blasts slow down the second they near him. It's not just speed—he's messing with time itself."

Duragon smirked, stepping forward. His boots cracked the ground, but his movement was too calm, too measured — as if the world itself bent to his rhythm. "You two talk too much," he said. "Come — let me show you what real power looks like."

Razor didn't wait. With a roar, his aura erupted like a golden storm. The ground around him shattered from the pressure, and he vanished, reappearing right in front of Duragon.

He swung — a crushing blow that split the air — but just as it should've connected, the world lagged.Razor felt it instantly — the strange, dragging sensation pulling at his body. His fist slowed mid-swing, and Duragon's calm smirk deepened.

Then came the counter. A single punch to Razor's gut. It didn't look fast — but it hit like a cannon. Razor's body folded as he was sent flying, crashing through a jagged boulder.

"Razor!" Gohan shouted, charging in. Sparks trailed from his aura as he fired a rapid barrage of ki blasts. But as the attacks entered Duragon's range, they visibly decelerated — their glow stretching, their motion sluggish, as the time resisted them.

Duragon lifted his sword lazily and deflected each one like slow-moving bubbles."Beautiful, isn't it?" he said, his voice calm and cold. "The moment I step forward, the world slows down to match me."

Gohan's eyes widened. "What… are you saying…?"

Before he could finish, Duragon was already in front of him. The greatsword's flat edge slammed into Gohan's chest, sending him spiraling into the dirt.

Dust rose, and for a moment there was silence — until two familiar auras tore through the battlefield like comets.

Goku and Vegeta landed beside Razor and Gohan, their expressions sharp and focused. "Man…" Goku said, glancing at Razor's bruised state. "You two look like you've been through a meat grinder."

"Save the jokes, Kakarot," Vegeta snapped, eyes fixed on Duragon. "That bastard's warping the battlefield. I can feel it."

Duragon raised an eyebrow, amused. "Ah, more Earth warriors comes to be crushed."

Vegeta growled. "You bastard!"

Before anyone could stop him, Vegeta blasted forward, his aura blazing with the ferocity only he possessed. He aimed for Duragon's blind spot, firing a massive blast to pin him down — but the moment the attack neared him, it slowed.

"What!?" Vegeta snarled, forcing more power into it.

Duragon raised his sword and deflected it effortlessly. "You can't touch me inside my distortion field," he said. "The closer you come, the slower you move. Even energy bends to my pace."

Vegeta reappeared above him and launched a kick — but Duragon sidestepped casually, as though he had all the time in the world. His counter came so precisely that Vegeta barely saw the hilt smash into his ribs.

He coughed blood, flying backward — and Goku instantly appeared behind him, catching him mid-air.

"Careful!" Goku said, setting him down. "He's using something like time manipulation — but not total stoppage. It's more like… his personal gravity, stretching everything near him."

Razor pushed himself up, growling. "Gravity or not, I'll break it apart!"

Duragon chuckled, swinging his sword down into the ground. The shockwave rolled through the battlefield, and as it did, the very air shimmered. The sky's color warped slightly — even the distant explosions from other fights began to flicker in strange rhythm.

Then Razor felt it — that dragging pull again. Even the energy in his veins seemed to flow slower.

Duragon walked forward, blade dragging behind him, sparks flying from the stone. "The faster you move, the slower you become," he said. "A beautiful irony, isn't it?"

Goku frowned. "So that's how it is… He's making time stretch the harder we push."

Razor roared and blasted forward anyway. "I don't care what you're doing—!"

The ground burst beneath him as he struck with everything he had, aiming to break through sheer force. His punches tore through the air, each one heavy enough to bend the earth beneath their feet.

But each blow felt like he was punching underwater. Duragon calmly weaved through them, countering with sharp, efficient strikes — no wasted motion.

Then Gohan joined from the side, his aura flaring with renewed determination. "We'll overwhelm him together!"

Both Saiyans attacked in perfect sync — Razor's raw ferocity and Gohan's refined speed — but Duragon simply raised one hand, his aura shimmering with faint distortion.

Suddenly, both of their movements stuttered — their momentum fading mid-air.

Duragon turned slightly and spun his sword once. The wave of energy sent them both sprawling, their bodies rolling across the torn ground.

Goku clenched his fists. "That's enough!"

In an instant, he appeared above Duragon, hands cupped at his side. "Ka… me… ha… me...haaa—!"

Duragon looked up calmly. "Pointless."

The instant the blue beam was released, its energy slowed within Duragon's field — the mighty blast stretching into a sluggish, glowing river. Duragon swung his sword horizontally — and split the Kamehameha clean in half.

The beam dispersed into harmless light.

Goku's eyes widened, the wind from the backlash blowing his hair wildly. "He cut through it—!?"

Duragon rested his sword on his shoulder again. "Your world runs on seconds. Mine runs on eternities."

For a long moment, the battlefield was still.

Razor's fists trembled. His pride — his Saiyan blood — screamed in defiance. "You think time makes you untouchable? Then I'll hit you faster than time can crawl!"

His aura flared violently again — his power skyrocketing, each breath shaking the air. Gohan stood beside him, battered but determined.

Duragon tilted his head, smirking faintly. "You can try, little Saiyan. But by the time you reach me…"

He vanished.

"…you'll already be too late."

The air twisted violently as Razor and Gohan's heads snapped toward the sudden pressure behind them.Duragon was already there.

The ground exploded as his greatsword came down — the sound breaking like thunder.
